Booked for a business trip, I had a meeting mid afternoon and wanted to be settled in the room before starting my online meeting, this meant checking in early, I called the hotel and they were very polite on the phone and happy to oblige. On arriving I had to ring a bell to be let into the building, I was shown to my room, Rooms are ok, comfortable enough and clean if a bit cold. The lady that checked me in asked what time I want breakfast, I was leaving early, before usual breakfast service but was offered for there to be some cereal etc out for me to grab, which was a nice offer. I then found the restaurant is no longer operating, which wasn’t on the Expedia listing. So I ended up at the premier inn restaurant down the road for dinner. On arrival back at the hotel I was greeted by someone who seemed annoyed at me, told breakfast was not possible as they lock the rooms downstairs, as well as the front doors?? Seems like they don’t trust their guests. Any way I said it didn’t matter and went back to my room. Slept ok, got ready to leave for the day and just as I was on the way out, I was offered breakfast which I now didn’t have time for.
There is a building site right outside the hotel, I didn’t notice noise, but others might. Turn into the hotel is very tight if you have a big car. Without an on-site restaurant and other small niggles in all honesty it’s not worth the effort, just stay at the premier inn.
