This DoubleTree was well apportioned, with a spacious lobby, great amenities downstairs and a cool indoor outdoor pool, but we didn't use it because it was Christmas. The staff was great and very accommodating. The room was fine and very clean. I would love to see this property in another time of year but they do a great job around Christmas. We also checked out their marketplace restaurant for brunch and coffee and that was great as well.

The location is perfect for a visit to Busch Gardens, which was our intent during the Thanksgiving holiday. I stay in Doubletree locations in many cities because I always enjoy the amenities, the comfortable rooms, and the excellent customer service. As someone who has worked with the public and in the retail industry for 30 years, I understand that staff during a holiday may be sparse. The front desk gentleman was very nice and was able to locate my reservation quickly and promptly. It was disheartening when we were told that there was a $10 parking fee per night when more than half the parking lot was empty. My room was very nice and spacious with no major issues. I would like to request that cotton pillows be available as feather down pillows can be somewhat uncomfortable and not retain their shape causing issues with sleep. I know there are some guests that prefer those and I have no issue with that either, but like another hotels, having the option is quite nice. I had a second room booked for my family members and unfortunately, there were many issues. Staff members did come to fix the issues and were very kind. Please reconsider your parking fee as it is a major deterrent due to the fact that there is ample parking space for everyone.

Stay was good. We have stayed at this hotel 6 times at least over the years. 2 issues The pool was very dirty. The piece that separates the inside from outside area of the pool was missing. The pool had leaves and dirt throughout. It also caused a wind tunnel which made it not pleasant to swim in. We always choose this hotel for the pool as our family loves to swim and it greatly reduced the time we spent in the pool. The toilet in 404 was extremely loud and spit toilet paper back every flush.

There has been a very recent cosmetic renovation of finishes… Like carpet and flooring and paint and lobby furniture. However, I don't know how old the furniture in the bedrooms is, becuase the chair and sofa looked really saggy. I wouldn't sit on either. The bathrooms are TINY and still pretty old looking, except for the wallpaper and mirror lights. The elevator by my room was FILTHY. I was at a conference so I had to stay there. I would not stay there again and would not recommend anyone else does either.
