Older property that isn’t really maintained. Staff we talked two (3 people) weren’t very friendly. Bed was terrible- old I guess. Asked for two additional pillows, never received. Pretty dirty.

Great location, lots of charm, feels like home. An older hotel resort but unlike the newer ones out their this one has a personality. Very homey , restful and historic.

If you’re looking for a place on a budget for a bed and hot shower this is the place for you! You can tell they are trying to update the lobby and lounge areas but the reminder of the hotel is extremely outdated and there’s an odor that follows throughout. The mattresses are old but not bad! I will say the water pressure is exceptional! It’s just a very very old hotel!! The pictures are certainly edited very well!! The staff was friendly. Breakfast was your average waffle, bagel or cereal. It was good to lay your head after a day of walking around.

One of the reasons we chose this location was because it said there was a restaurant and a bar. The was NOT a bar and the only semblance of a restaurant was the breakfast buffet area, which had the eggs and biscuits with gravy only on the weekend. The staff were all very excellent and professional.

It was so dirty and gross my wife and I decided to leave after we checked in and saw our room. We are trying to get our money back for our cancelled reservations. there was floss on the floor, when you looked closely at everything, including the sheets, pillows, carpet, bathroom, it was stained and dingy. Would not recommend anyone stay there

Old and run down rooms, lobby looked nice. Lower level rooms had boards covering windows that were broken and been there. Ceiling tiles were falling. Tub didn’t drain. Etc etc. Staff seemed nice, will never stay there again, only picked for convenience and proximity to Colonial Williamsburg. I usually stay at another hidden gem that was sold out because of Grand Illumination weekend.

The staff was excellent. The pool and hot tub were clean and safe. The breakfast during the week was good and excellent on Saturday when they expanded it with scrambled eggs, sausages, and hot biscuits. The lobby, restaurant and conference areas were very nice. However, the room was dated and needed updates and repairs. The shower curtain was torn, the closet doors were off the tracks, there was rust around the tub. The elevators were noisy and seem like they need some preventive maintenance.

The lobby and breakfast area have been renovated and are so lovely! We loved the fireplace and the movies at night! The rooms have yet to be renovated so they are older and not as nice, but overall, we love it here.

I really enjoyed reading about the history of the property and seeing artifacts from the Civil War. Hope renovations will restore the original beauty of this property. My college roommate and I need to visit during the summer.

My room smelled very clean, it was spotless. My bed was very comfortable. The room temp was perfect. The hostess was very polite :) they were playing a disney movie on the big screen in the lounge with aa warm fireplace. Pool was not cold (hampton inn suites is very chilly for kids). Had a hot tub too. The breakfast was continental. It was convenient to colonial wmbg.

Horrible - Dirty
- very outdated - the first room we were given was dirty. The carpet was stained, the furniture was old and beat up. The bathtub was dirty and and multiple pieces of hair in it so I asked to be moved to another room. - the 2nd room was the same except the tub was clean. I had to clean the return ducts because they were caked with hair and dirt. We stayed the night in this room but it was just gross. They gave us a first floor room because we originally were going to bring our dog but did not so in hopes of getting a better room they moved us to the 2nd floor and that was even worse. The stairwells smelled like urine and desks, the carpet throughout the hotel was tattered and pulled up, definitely a tripping hazard. The only nice part of the hotel was the lobby area. In our last room the bathroom door kept sticking and finally wouldn’t open. They came up, ripped out the handle and replaced it and did not clean up the broken wood and paint chips. When I called the front desk they said they would try to come up to clean it. The toilet was also leaking whenever you flushed it. I finally decided to check out. It was a big disappointment.

Found a used, fake nail in my bed indicating the bed had not been changed out. Nothing was done about it. Bathroom was tiny and dirty. Whole experience was gross.
