An escape tucked away in the city
Wonderful getaway. Feels as you've stepped away from the big city. The property is beautiful and well kept while maintaining a quaint rustic charm. Staff is always smiling and helpful. The tasting room and restaurant were very convenient a few steps away.

Simply the very best experience we could ask for! Barbara and the staff were super sweet and the room was soooo nice! The entire atmosphere there is extremely beautiful. Stayed there all weekend for my girlfriend's birthday and it did NOT disappoint in any way. Loved visiting the winery on property and being so close to Jamestown island and all the amazingly beautiful and historic areas that surround the property. The feel was less hotels and more bed and breakfast but with the services you expect from a high end hotel. Thank you Wedmore Place.

The housekeeping quality control was not adequate. During the three days of our stay, certain convenience items such as complimentary bottled water, shampoo, and conditioner etc. were sometimes not replenished as needed. On one day, the room was cleaned but the bed was not made. The complimentary breakfast was unimaginative.

Beautifully antique furnished rooms. Very serene & relaxing environment . Breakfast was delicious & a nice touch. All the staff were helpful & kind. Enjoyed our wine tasting but disappointed the on-site restaurant was closed during our stay. We were looking forward to trying it. One note the bathroom was wonky & not very functional. Doesn’t match the level of the other spaces.

My husband and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary at Wedmore Place. It looked wonderful online but I think even nicer in person. Unique antique furniture throughout the inn, beautiful grounds and outdoor areas, quiet and romantic, and the staff was warm, welcoming and accommodating. The breakfast and dining area were a pleasant surprise. I was expecting less when I saw "continental breakfast" but the spread was plentiful and delicious. Staff served coffee which was a nice touch. My husband and I both agree, we will definitely come back and will recommend to friends and family.

Great concept in need of some TLC
The grounds of the Williamsburg Winery are gorgeous. Each room is unique and themed. Charming idea in concept but this average hotel could be phenomenal with some much needed TLC. We stayed in room 12, Killarney, so our review reflects the condition of this room only. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The in room coffee maker made a nice cup of coffee and the toiletries were very nice. The historic theme has been taken a bit too far into actual neglect. Our room had visible water damage to the ceiling beams and cracked/ peeling paint on the walls. There were paint chips on the floor behind the night table that were never vacuumed. The oriental rug was in severe need of a professional cleaning. We found the room layout odd and not very functional. The armoire holds the television but the doors do not stay open and because the room is too tight, collide with the bathroom door making it loud at night and quite possible to wake your partner up. The bathroom layout was also strange. The shower did not fit in the space. The shower door cannot fullly open. The music from the breakfast area plays 24 hours a day and can be heard in the bathroom at night. Fortunately, it’s nice music and therefore less creepy. The wood floors and trim need a good polishing and routine cleaning. There were stains on the floor in addition to wear. The breakfast was decent. Barbara was delightful. More protein choices would be nice, perhaps a yogurt or scrambled egg. 🍳
