Good hotel, bad A/C

Comfy bed, good service. Great breakfast (for a hotel breakfast). My one big complaint is the A/C was off and locked out where we could not turn it on or adjust anything. The wall thermostat was also blank and unusable. The room ended up being hot, both my wife and I had trouble sleeping because of the heat. Not sure why we weren’t allowed to set A/C but that was frustrating. Otherwise good hotel

The hotel for the most part was clean, under staffed which made calling the front desk very difficult at times, but for the most part the staff was courteous & professional . The biggest disappointment was that the pool had been closed all summer

Nice hotel minutes from downtown Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach. Staff friendly and professional, clean spacious room and comfortable bed. Great value and we would definitely recommend this hotel.

I made our reservation 2 days before our arrival. I called the property directly (unfortunately i didn't get her name) to confirm they have a pool for my 3 year old grandson. I was told they do have a pool so i booked it. When we get to the property i asked the location of the pool. I was then told that the pool was closed because it needed an inspection. I wasn't told that when i called. There were other issues with the room as well but that is my main complaint.

Not so great Holiday Inn Express

The landscape was horrible, googles drooping on the walkways, the grass needed to be cut and parking lot needed to be cleaned. The pool was green, dirty and fill of leaves. Once off the main level, the hallways were hot and smelled stall, they did not have the AC on in the hallways. The first room they gave us had puddles of liquid on the floor, two large puddles on the carpet and one in front of the bathroom door mini-fridge. There were two dead bugs on the floor in front of the mini fridge. They did change out room which was better, however, the shower had hair in it, the bathroom floor had hair on it, there was trash that was not cleaned besides the nightstands. The mattress for the pull-out bed was very old, we could not use it because it was too thin and you could feel the metal springs. We decided to not add another night to our trip and just go home

In our room, the toilet was loose (caulking around bottom of the toilet was peeling off and dirty), bugs in the bathroom. We did not get our room cleaned, they said we hung the not ready yet sign to long on the door (We took it down by 12:30 and were told sorry too late. The rooms are not ready to go into until 3:00 so I don't understand why they didn't come back and check to see if we took the sign down. For $400 for 2 nights I expected a much better experience. I would take this hotel off your list as a recommended hotel. I will NEVER stay in a Holiday Inn ever again.

Never cleaned our room the 4 days we were there. I called the front desk to ask for the house cleaning staff to come to our room, stated she would and they never came from day 1-3 day 4, we went home. There was blood on my sheets so please check. I got clean covers and made my own bed, no staff to help.
