Hotel parking was a nightmare we have a disabled badge but this made no difference.parking spaces were sealed off apparently for the use of staff but were empty,so disappointing start to the holiday.

OK stay but not great!
Ok stay. But room was not available at 1500 hrs as advertise, but half hour later ( apparently previous guests did not vacate on time ). Given it is an old property, condition is pretty good !

Great location in the centre of Winchester. Clean, well-equipped room. Some noise from the plumbing and the bed sunk in the middle.

Expensive Stay
Staff friendly, clean room although bathroom needs updating as does the carpet in bar area. Got lucky with the parking to our relief and the close proximity of the hotel to the centre is great. The biggest bug bear of our stay was the price of a bottle of wine at £36.00 that costs £16.00 in Tesco. The cost of the stay was expensive also.

I had booked an early check in and arrived some time before 12. I was told quite curtly that my room was not ready but that they would tell the staff that I had arrived. The room was ready at 12 but the check in process went without a smile. It was as if the receptionist was doing a great favour Letting me have the room. I won’t be going back.

Hotel is in an excellent location in the center of Winchester and has lovely views of the cathedral. Rooms are dated but clean, although grout around the bath/shower was discoloured. Breakfast buffet quite limited and not really worth the money. My major concern however that another guest was issued with a key card for my room and was able to gain entry despite the door chain being in place- poor quality chain. The receptionist was extremely apologetic when i complained about this event. Overall I do not think this hotel is good value for money and if I return to Winchester I will look for an alternative. However I would be prepared to stay there again.

Perfect for a weekend break
This is our second booking this year, so the hotel must be doing something right! We like the easy parking, friendly and relaxed welcome and good sized rooms. The location is perfect for a weekend break exploring Winchester.

Over Night Xmas Market Stay
Lovely over night stay with the added perk of a cathedral view. Paid extra for a slightly larger room which was worth it. Only negative was online it stated £15 for late checkout but I was charged £20. Great location especially if you’re going to the Xmas market.
