First of all, our host was delightful and so helpful in making our July 4 family excursion fun.
The house was wonderful for our family of 5 kids. Lots of options for relaxing (and hiding places to get away from their siblings). We didn't get to use the yurt (it was the hottest week of the summer) but it looked like a great hideaway.
The host gave us some great ideas that the kids loved. In addition to Portland fireworks, lighthouses, and the Freeport outlets, the kids' favorite was going swimming in the river and swinging off the rope - and jumping off the old railroad bridge int the river! And that little shop at the corner DID have great subs for packing in the car.
Thanks again for making a great long weekend fun (and learning about how awesome an induction range can be!).
P.S. Get up early, make a pot of coffee, and maybe you will see the mythical white squirrel (not kidding).
