When I book a hotel, I hope to stay in the hotel, not be plonked into an outbuilding across the street and definitely not in one that was freezing cold and opens directly onto the outside. It's a bit mad to have to put your coat on to go to breakfast. Imagine if I wanted to go to the spa!
When I mentioned how cold the room was, I was told 'oh, don't worry, it will heat up in 30 mins, the aircon is tempermental so don't ask too much from it too soon!'. Erm, thanks for that! After asking, someone kindly bought a radiator.
Three more quick things.
1) Aircon was then (really) noisy all night long! Lots of gurgling and throttled noises.
2) Breakfast location was fabulous, overlooking the river. Breakfast content was pretty poor: packet cereal, typhoo tea and powdered scrambled eggs etc. Didn't quite match the grand location.
3) No heating in bathroom really. As my room was basically over an entrance of a stables or garage, floor was stone cold.
