Entire place

You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Cabin on a Lake

WONDERFUL, WILD, LUXURY - The cabin on the lake, built in 2022 by Andy the owner is a unique and wonderful place. We’re incredibly excited about it and are sure you will be too! Head back into nature at the Cabin on the Lake, a name which could not be more perfectly suited to this private getaway in the North Devon countryside.

Set in a secluded spot on an island on a lake with open access to fields. Follow a short winding path from the field, until you stumble upon the idyllic lake. Cross a bridge and you find the cabin nestled on an island in the lake. There is a platform above the water which is the perfect spot for yoga or meditation or simply star gazing!

There’s also the rustic fire pit to toast marshmallows upon and plenty of private space to sit back and relax with an ice cold G&T the only tough decision is to choose the hammocks or egg chair?
Immerse your mind, body and soul into a slower pace of life for a few days and enjoy life’s simple pleasures.

GET AWAY FROM IT ALL…..
The private Cabin on the lake is perfect for romantics, clad in timber inside and out, the cabin is true to its name and has a substantial deck out over the lake, giving a sense of floating on water which surrounds its balcony on 3 sides.

A great, tranquil place to sit and watch the local wildlife.

There is so much character within this bespoke hideaway, which we know you will just fall in love with. On a rainy-day light the wood burner and cosy up with that book you’ve been waiting to get stuck into. You are sure to get a dreamy night’s sleep in the sumptuous king-size bed made out of an oak tree and hand-crafted with luxurious linens and there’s no need to set an alarm here! We told you, this really is the place to retreat to for some much-needed downtime.

Large Windows with bi-fold doors ensure you feel immersed in the environment and a full-width balcony on two sides over the water with your very own decked area and picnic and BBQ area.

The Cabin on the lake is simple but sophisticated – the interior has stripped wood floors and walls, a king-size bed and furniture made out of logs! Including a huge bathroom with a walk-in shower, toilet and sink. It also has a kitchen (hob and microwave but no oven) and an open-plan lounge area. Plus, if you do have the kids, it has a fantastic upstairs bedroom with restricted ceiling height offering a true secret den set up with 2 full-sized single beds. The sofa also converts to a double sofa bed should you have extended guests with you.

The Cabin on the Lake soothes the tension of modern life right out of you and fills you with the peace of nature.

Gather everyone around the wood-burner in the evening for games, stories and even guitar practice, light the fire pit and stargaze in silence or unwind in our hammocks or egg chair!

There are beautiful sandy beaches at Instow, Saunton Sands, or Braunton Burrows but not forgetting the wonderful galleries and cafes at Instow and Appledore, which is rich with maritime themes and link to the sea. Clovelly is a short car journey away and is pretty as a picture. Once you have discovered this very special place, you’ll be looking to return as soon as possible.
With wonderful walks, stunning sunsets and endless views there is also an abundance of natural wildlife to observe. There is a shared table tennis room for you to enjoy and we also cater for extra charged experiences such as home made food delivered to your door and donkey walks plus, we have also teamed up with other local businesses to offer horse riding, drinks tasting and spa treatment experiences! Another major attraction is the experience to feed/care for animals should guests wish to.

The Southwest Coast Path is also a popular ‘must visit’ for keen runners and walkers! If golf is your thing, then you will be spoiled for choice with excellent courses including the Royal North Devon Club in Westward Ho! which was founded in 1864 and is the oldest golf course in England and the wonderful Championship Links Saunton Club.

The popular Tarka Trail can be accessed nearby and provides the unique opportunity to follow a disused railway line by foot or by cycle allowing you to enjoy some of Devon’s finest countryside and scenery while discovering the towns of Barnstaple and Bideford where you can wander during the weekly pannier markets, with a host of local produce, quality cafés and crafts on offer. On your Tarka Trail journey be sure to visit the Fremington Quay Café for a tasty bite to eat and then the estuary-side village of Instow – a must see!

Other places not to forget to visit are Lynton & Lynmouth for stunning views out towards Wales. And be sure not to forget to visit Exmoor or Dartmoor National Parks, the former with its magical night skies in Europe’s first ’Dark Sky Reserve’.
