Great stay
Have stayed at the Radisan blu Stanstead a number of times before catching an early flight due to its great proximity to the airport. The rooms are clean and comfortable offering bathroom toiletries and tea/coffee . The bar area is spacious and the central wine rack a striking feature. Staff are friendly and attentive. Restaurant is rather expensive but bar menu also available.

The hotel had the nice style of a Radisson and is easily accessed by walking, under cover, from the terminal. The food and service were very good. The bedroom was comfortable and had bathtub shower. Only two things to improve: 1. The hot food for breakfast could be a lot warmer. It is not cold, but tepid. 2. The shampoo bottles are fixed to the wall in the bath/shower at a height of 1.6 metres? This means that having a bath becomes a continually dynamic exercise of jumping up to stand and get soap, and then lying down again in the bath. This defeats the purpose of having a bath, i.e.. to relax

The hotel is convenient and surprisingly quiet, but housekeeping could definitely be improved. There was noticeable dust on the headrest, limescale in the toilet, hair in the sink, and mould along the bath. The curtains had stains and cuts, and the feature lounger chair was heavily stained, making it uncomfortable to sit on. These issues detracted from an otherwise pleasant stay.

The foyer, evidently added later or renovated is stunning. It gives the impression of a luxurious bespoke experience. In exiting the lift you enjoy the great Birds Eye view before entering the corridor containing the rooms. The carpet was clearly old very worn in areas with most footfall. There were pockets of dust here and there throughout. This had not accrued in a short time. The bedroom was probably plush when last refitted. Unfortunately that appears to be some time ago. There is a build in headboard with attached cabinets. Clearly it was designed and housed a bigger bed at some point. As you would require elastic arms to place anything on the cabinet from the bed. The mattress in turn has been replaced with one smaller than the bed base. So none of the 3 parts of the bed were designed to be together. The bathroom was basic and screamed the nineties with a halo shower head being the only evidence of the 21st century. The external hotel and foyer betrays the resident area which feels grubby, and simply not clean The restaurant was ok but the butter chicken. It was meant to be served with poppadoms and nan but only the latter arrived. Tasty but space portions and it contained very little chicken. It was more reminiscent to a pataks paste than a from scratch butter chicken. At the guts of £20 a potion I suppose I just expected better. Other dishes such as fish and chips came out that looked lovely.

Always pleasant to stay here. Being cashless can be a pain. Very convenient location and staff are very good. Bar closes very early for a hotel but all in all a good reliable hotel at good prices.

The hotel is close to the airport, 5mn walk so very convenient. But there was some loud noises in a pipe system above us during the night, woke us up several times between midnight and 3AM. Also we had a room with a window facing inside on the lobby of the hotel, not the nicest view.

Great meal at the college restaurant
Everything about the hotel was perfect, a great room, lovely meal in the college restaurant, however the hot water went down so we could not shower as we were leaving early. We did raise this issue with front desk who are sorting it out with the maintenance manager. So excellent service so far.
