Great location .. just be aware there are 2 Hampton hotels in York .. make sure you double check which one you are heading for especially if on foot from the train station.. google sent us to the wrong one so we wasted a lot of time and effort . Hotel was fine for couple of nights tho. Breakfast was plentiful.. something for everyone.. whatever your preference. Staff werent always the most happy/ friendly but they were probably busy.

A lovely hotel, in walking distance from town center and the the Shambles and York Minster. Great, friendly staff. Checking in and out was easy. The room was very clean and warm. Just check parking before leaving home as there is no parking on site. Theres a NCP parking close and the hotel offer a discount for parking there.

Lifts were very good staff on the whole excellent although not having our room service till we ask at 4.30 pm why it wasn’t done then they only changed the towels with a bit of a giggle let the hotel down also not being told till we arrived that parking was in a ncp car park down the road !!!!

This hotel is a regular stay for us. It's always a good stay and is in a great spot for exploring the City. My only gripe is that Hilton continue to embarrass themselves by reducing the plate sizes at breakfast and limiting the amount of coffee that is poured from the machines into the reduced size cups. I get that it's a buffet breakfast and as such, you can simply return to the buffet (and coffee machine queues) with your (barely bigger than a) side plate and baby cup.....but that really isn't the point. I'm an adult....I would like adult sized servings. Are there any adults within Hilton management who can reverse these childish decisions?
