Hotel lacked ambience but fine for my purposes. Senior travelling alone, I felt safe.
The TV in the room did not work but since I was only there for one night I didn’t mention it to reception until the following morning. Mainly for next occupancy.
I really feel a bedside lamp should be provided because there was no light when getting to the toilet during the night. Accident waiting to happen especially for seniors who have frequent visits to the bathroom in the night.
Was greeted pleasantly on arrival , even had my room upgraded which was super. Room was clean. Everything worked. Staff helpful and breakfast in morning was very good. I’ve eaten here at dinner before too and that was tasty with good service.
I booked a premium room and had the AC condensers outside my room which was very noisy, especially as the windows were single glazed. I asked to move rooms but was told I can’t as the hotel is full. Didn’t sleep at all because of the constant loud mechanical noise from the condensers. The room was ok but the hallways were in terrible condition with wallpaper and paint peeling off the walls and worn and stained carpets. This is a £40 hotel not £120. I will not be staying here again.
Very friendly and accomodating staff.Room overall very good.quiet.the only main issue was the heating-which was on full power constantly and throughout the night.Tried turning off but no success.Very concerning for the environment-heating bill and massive impact on my sleep as the ideal sleep temperature is 16 to 18 degrees.
The Hotel was ideal for an overnight stay and there's nothing I can complain about. How good is that?

Staff let down by dated hotel
This is a strange review. The staff were fantastic, they we're all friendly and attentive. All seemed interested in all the customers, and certainly were made very welcome. Our experience in the bar and with the food was also excellent, again the staff were great.
That said, the interior of the the rooms and especially the bathrooms really let the staff down and could do with a few quid spent on them to bring them up to the same standard as the team. The accomodation was tired and the bathrooms not great, in addition the radiator in the room could not be turned down which meant a poor sleep, and an early departure just to get out the room. At checkout I was told they could be turned down with pliers....while travelling I had no toolbox!
Spend a few pounds and give the staff something better to work with please
