This is a larger complex but it felt like a cozy ryokan throughout, especially in the rather large Japanese style room that I had. Staff speak little English but were friendly enough to work around my poor Japanese.
Amazing! Great traditional food. Lovely helpfull s
This place was absolutely amazing. Staff was exceptional.Hotel was very clean and accommodating. They give you so much food. Dinner comes with probably 20 different pieces of food that is traditional. I ate food that i still don’t know what it was but it was prepared and displayed beautifully. Onsen was small but clean and great after a day of skiing. Would definitely come back.
Omiya Ryokan is easily accessible by car. There is parking not too far from the Ryokan itself. Staff service was excellent; they were accommodating even though we didn’t speak a word of Japanese (thank god for Google Translate). The food was a delight. Room was spacious and very clean. The onsen was small, but was really well kept. 10/10.
This a great place to stay if you are looking for a typical Japanese hotel with a hot spring in the hotel and within walking distance of the Zao ski area. The hotel is clean and comfortable. They have a nice lounge area to relax after skiing. We had 1/2 board that included a typical Japanese breakfast and dinner - both expertly served and outstanding. Highly recommended hotel!!!
Absolutely incredible experience! One of the more amazing places I’ve ever stayed. Service was top notch! Clean and spacious rooms. A perfect taste of traditional ryokan. Exquisite dining as well!
A certain amount of cash (€900) was stolen from our backpack inside our room either during dinner or breakfast time on our last day, before departure. I realised that immediately after leaving the hotel and I could not go back to report it because we would miss first the train and then the flight. Now we cannot file a police report from overseas and there is no way for us to contact the management of this ryokan to inform them about the event. In fact, no email address is available online and the staff at the ryokan could barely speak some word in English, so it is pointless to try to contact them via phone. This was the most expensive ryokan we stayed at during our trip in Japan and never would we expect that such a miserable action would take place. Very disappointed! Besides this event, the rooms were very beautiful, the dinner was below average and there was no open-air hot spring.
The stay at Omiya ryokan is excellent. The room is spacious and clean. The guest lounge has massaging armchair that help the guest to relax. It would be good to have more English language books in the lounge for reading. Overall, the stay allows the travellers to enjoy the hospitality of the Japanese running the ryokan.
