Get to know the Shaoxing that locals know by taking a trip to Yuecheng. A suburb 30 kilometres to the north, it's an awesome place to get a feel for the area and the people who live in it. Coming in via Xiaoshan International Airport? Once you've picked up your bags, jump into a taxi and set out 30 kilometres southeast.

This city is filled with exciting things to do, and you'll find many of them near Yuecheng. It's not easy to pick the best attractions, but the Bai Cao Yuan Garden and Dashan Pagoda are two you really shouldn't miss. After taking a look at those, you'll want to continue onwards to the Martyrs Monument of Qiu Jin and Yìngtiān Pagoda. While you're in town, consider visiting a few other neighbourhoods to taste more of what Shaoxing offers. Shaoxing City Center and Xiejia'an are great recommendations that aren't too far away.
