It's situated 390 kilometres to the west of Poland's capital, Warsaw.

Zagan sits within an easy drive of some impressive natural sights. Wilkanowska Mountain is 40 kilometres away and is well worth the time spent in the car.

Sports lovers don't need to worry about being left out in the cold during their stay. Centrum Rereacyjno-Sportowe is 40 kilometres away in Zielona Gora and a fabulous place to get your sporting fix. Be sure to check the event schedule to see what's on.

There's nothing quite like racing out of bed and carving through fresh, fluffy snow at Harrachov Ski Resort. Once you've exhausted all the trails there, pack up your skis and continue onwards to Karpacz Ski Resort.

Seeking some other nearby places? Marszow is about 11 kilometres to the west, so hop in the car and start exploring! Alternatively, Szprotawa, 13 kilometres east of Zagan, is also worth a day trip.

Whether it's for a bit of retail therapy or to take in the sights, visitors often make the trip out to Zielona Gora, 40 kilometres to the north.
