My wife and I like this hotel very much. She is very picky, but she likeed the room immediately after we entered. If the hotel provides a convevient way to get hot water, that will be perfect.

Good for basics and good location.
This is a good option for staying in Zermatt. A sort of traditional European hotel, two twin beds, small rooms, most rooms have to share shower and toilet with other rooms on the floor. A bit of a walk from the station. You actually check in at the modern hotel nearby. But overall, if you are looking for basics when enjoying the scenic outdoors of Zermatt, this is fine. Not really a romantic or business hotel.

This room for our first of two nights here was tiny. The washroom was tiny. The worst thing is the water basin for hand washing is not in the toilet but in the room with the bed. Thus, after using the toilet in the middle of the night, I woke up my wife when I washed my hands. Not recommended to take this "double room." The property is quite old. The elevator situates between floors, so after getting out of the elevator, we needed to lug our baggage up 8 steps of stairs. The check-in office is not in the hotel building itself but in the reception area of another hotel next door.

This is our second night, but due to my separate booking they changed us to a different room, which is quite a bit larger. But we needed to check out the first room and check in later into the second one. The staff was very helpful. Check-in and check-out were easy.

Hotel Alpina is a little gem of a hotel tucked away in a peaceful and green location just a very short distance from the high street in Zermatt. The staff in the hotel opposite where you check in and can also use the restaurant were absolutely excellent in every way. Nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant was fabulous, too. Would highly recommend.

Hotel Alpina is pleasant, quiet and centrally located place in Zermatt easy accessible from the train station. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Love the little balcony in each room. Everyone in reception are very helpful and friendly. This place offers everything you need. Wish I could stay there longer!
