It is less than 5 minutes’ walk from Zermatt train station. There is a supermarket about 100 metres from the apartment. Check-in was easy. However, I needed to go to Hotel Astoria to make my payment and I had to use cash because their card machine was faulty. The in-room telephone was not working. They are installing a lift in the building, so there was a bit of mess at the check-in area. It is still an old-school kind of check-in. Owner left the room key with a letter addressed to me on a shelf. Our room and its amenities are as per photos and description upon booking. Housekeeping was quite creepy. She knocked on our door without saying who she was. As there was no peep-hole to see who was at the door, my son had to ask. Only then she mentioned that she was from housekeeping. We refused any housekeeping as we wanted to rest after spending the morning in Gornegrat. Just after she left, the WiFi died. My son opened the door to check on the router (which is placed on the wall just outside our room). The router seemed to have been detached from the wall and placed neatly outside our door... Overall, I am satisfied with my stay. I may book it again if I were to return to Zermatt, although it would not be my first choice.
