This is a big beautiful hotel. everything is big and highly designed. The lobby is expansive and the staff is very helpful. They are desperately in need of a courtesy shuttle, we came in from Macau and tried to get a taxi and the only ones available were from the taxi mafia.
The grounds are immaculate and have many types of flora and fauna to explore, my daughter sought out the flamingos and exotic birds. There is also a great water park on site with indoor play structure and an outdoor artificial beach and wave pool, a lazy river and even a pool that looks onto a dolphin tank so you can feel like you're swimming with dolphins. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious, really nice thematic toiletries with matching boxes that had aquatic cartoon images. We don't like the clear wall between the bed and restroom, need to pull down the thin curtains otherwise no privacy! Very comfortable beds, they also had a universal electric socket so we could plug in our USA powered devices without an adaptor. They provide a shuttle to the nearby ocean kingdom aquarium but it's only about a 10-15 minute walk.
My biggest criticism is that the place is too big, it can take a long time to get around. In addition some exits & entrances were closed forcing us to find an alternate route, sometimes involving doubling back the length of the hotel. We had dinner in the adjacent Circus Hotel, which had a nice view of the fireworks show.
This hotel is just fantastic. Best for family with children. First night we went to the Circus, which is 5 minutes from the hotel covered walk. Most of the acts are from Western Countries- very entertaining. Spent second day at Chime Long Ocean Kingdom. Must see the 5-D show and the Beluga show. We returned hotel late afternoon, so didn't see everything.
The check-in staff are friendly and welcoming, and appear to be knowledgeable of the hotel. The rooms are huge and the beds are comfortable. Everything feels luxurious and adequate amenities are provided. For dining, the options available are alright. The Fishman Village, in particular, provides good quality local food at reasonable prices. The decor is quite overwhelming, and often borders on the brink of being gaudy and overdone - it gives one the feeling that any and every available space should be decorated, never mind if the themes/colours match or not. Of course, this is quite the novelty for most of the guests, considering the number that were milling around and taking photos.

Mixed Feelings - Great but at the same time poor
A) Theme - Fantastic
The theme of the hotel was great - fairytales and fantasy - you feel like you are in a different world.
The design is unique and "sort of" original.
B) Hotel Staff Knowledge Level & Service-Orientedness - Very Poor for a hotel of such calibre
However, the knowledge of the service staff leaves a lot to be desired. There is so much room for improvement. They don't seemed to have flexibility and don't even have the basic knowledge of providing essential information to customers.
For instance, when I asked the ticket office staff which drop-off point is nearer to the Macau international Airport, she has no clue. And this is the lady who is selling me the hotel shuttle bus ticket to enter Macau!
Another example is when I wanted to pay my restaurant bill using foreign credit card for my 2nd meal at the same restaurant in the hotel. I made the 1st meal payment using a foreign credit card and was successful doing it. The staff asked me whether I can pay in cash, when I asked to pay with a foreign credit card - obviously I don't have enough local currency.
Later I found out that it was the staff who doesn't know how to operate a foreign credit card machine. Then get trained and learn how to use one!
C) Environment - Excellent in the hotel but poor out of the hotel
- The design, theme was fantastic, but you are practically in the middle of nowhere and the location was super far from the city centre.
Nice stay, room enough spacious and confortable with all that I was requiring. Staff friendly and trying to be helpful using reasonable English. Room was quiet maybe because of upper floor - 13th Floor- and agood place to relax. Naturally with huge number of rooms and mostly families, the lobby and dining áreas are a bit crowded and noisy.
This hotel is very luxurious and modern. Rooms are very comfortable. But its location is not very convenient. It is located far away from everything. A taxi ride to downtown Zhuhai takes about 40 minutes. There is a small convenient store inside the hotel, but it does not offer any snacks. Food is expensive. Breakfast buffet is RMB317.00 (US$55.00). But the worst is the fact that if you have to take a taxi early morning on a weekend, you will not find one easily. We had to catch a flight at 9:00 a.m. on a Sunday. We had to leave for the Zhuhai airport at around 6:00 a.m. There were no taxis available to take us and the concierge service was not helpful. They just kept telling us no taxis were available and were doing nothing to get us one. It was not until we asked for the hotel manager that they started trying to call a taxi service. Luckily a taxi arrived some minutes later to drop off a guest and took us to the airport. I would not recommend this hotel to a business traveler for this reason. It caters more to families with small children because of the aquarium and circus right next to it. Be careful when making your reservation online. They were not honoring the rate we got on hotels.com and had to call several times until someone from the hotels.com reservations desk talked to them and had them accept the original rate.

very expensive
the hotel lost my fully paid reservation when i arrived. because it's a Saturday that my party arrived, there were almost no room. not being able to sort it out immediately, the staff just told me to wait indefinitely. after waiting for a long time, we decided it wiser to have dinner then come back to check on the status. there are little choice for food. and every restaurant is very expensive. we came back from dinner. they found my reservation. but because the hotel was quite full, our 2 rooms were separated quite far apart. for such expensive price, the room is at best a 3.5 star. nonetheless i am grateful at least they are clean.
The hotel is brand new, opened Feb. 2014. My room was spacious, with both bathtub and shower.
Beautiful area of different type of swimming pools. Had a dolphin pool too, except contained no dolphins, just giant turtles. According to staff, dolphins will arrive before July 1, 2014. Fitness facility was barely ok, with running and bike machines, but not enough weight machines.
Front desk and 50% of staff speak adequate English Nothing is near hotel, so you must eat in hotel's restaurants, which are expensive for China. Breakfast buffet, which was tasty, cost 159 yuan. (6.2 yuan = US$1.)
Taxi from Lotus Bridge immigration should cost 18 yuan. Drivers try to get you to pay lots more. Need hotel's Chinese characters for drivers to understand.
