Ang Thong is a destination with plenty of cool stories to tell. If you feel like your life's been a bit humdrum lately, a trip here is the perfect answer!

Thailand's capital city, Bangkok, is situated roughly 95 kilometres to the south of Ang Thong.

Ayutthaya is filled to the brim with excellent things to see and do. Located 30 kilometres to the southeast, here you'll be treated to Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Wat Ratchaburana and Ayutthaya Historical Park.

Keep all members of the family entertained with a trip to Park and Water Park Complex.

Break out on a journey to some surrounding natural sights. 30 kilometres out of Ang Thong, Pa Sak Jolasid Dam is all yours to explore. Khao Yai National Park, 35 kilometres away, is another pleasant place to kick back.

Alternatively, Bang Ban is 20 kilometres to the south of Ang Thong. Stop at this destination for access to Wat Phra Mahathat and the Wat Chai Wattanaram.

Your eyes shouldn't have all the fun while you're in Ang Thong. Give your taste buds a little attention too by tucking into some of the local food and drink. After all, you can't say you've really experienced a place until you've tasted its flavours.

No self-respecting food fan would leave Ang Thong without tucking into one or two of the classic dishes, such as khao phat nam phrik long ruea (rice, chili and duck’s eggs) and kuai-tiao rat na (wide rice noodles in gravy).
