Wonderful location, lovely rooms and amenities. Had such a great stay here and would happily go again.

Lovely property and very friendly staff. Good vegan options on the menu including a special vegan Christmas dinner. Absolute highlight was the on-site observatory and the talks given there on clear nights - absolutely amazing experience!

Great hotel and restaurant

I loved staying outside of Reykjavik area and closer to the scenic areas I wanted to explore. I enjoyed staying three nights at this hotel because it was absolutely beautiful, the staff were simply extraordinary, the shop is everything I’d want to buy (if I had enough room in my luggage), and the variety of restaurants with high quality food (tacos, nachos, fish & chips) was super convenient. Free parking. Free breakfast spread including croissants, fresh bread, granola, yogurt, fruit, deli meat and cheese, etc. Additionally I recommend their cookies and hot cocoa! I had rented a car and traveled solo and went to black sand beach (2 hour drive). The krater lake was 15 minutes away as well as fabulous boutique shopping in Selfoss. There are lots of adventures (zip lining, horseback riding, hot springs, hiking, etc you can book while there). More importantly than all that was the staff. They would talk with you if your travels and respond when inquiring about recommendations. They are truly part of the awesome community in the small town. I’m definitely returning.

Fire and Frost is amazing! Book room number 4- corner room right above the river. Fabulous!

Clean and spacious. The Aurora wakeup call was a wonderful touch!
