Battista is not just any accommodation. The fully restored church is a true destination experience. Recently the property featured on the ABC's Restoration Australia which showcased the extensive renovation that was years in the making.
Now true luxury is available in the heart of Ballarat CBD.
The one-bedroom apartment - flanked by the grand windows and heritage-protected walls of the 1800s Baptist church - is a cosy and refined place that you will never want to leave.
The past has been beautifully preserved at Battista.
The luxury accommodation has been converted into a dreamy home with some serious soul. It’s dreamy, soft and a safe space to cocoon.
Natural light leads the way and the huge windows and vaulted ceilings are breathtaking. Glass walls give an uninterrupted view of the fabric of the old building.
Battista is self-contained and sleeps two in spacious king-size luxury. The ensuite features a walk-in shower and freestanding bath where you can soak the day away (no need to pack the bath salts, they’re already waiting for you).
The kitchen manages to keep all its hard-working aspects from view and it’s stocked with all sorts of goodies. And, if you don't want to leave the place, room service is available.
There’s two living areas and a reading nook with views over the ground floor.
High tech systems bring you the best security, lighting and sound – rivalling any theatre.
Guests will have access to the entire apartment.
We are available 24 hours a day.
Perched within the Central Highlands of Victoria, Ballarat will charm you.
The regional city is steeped in colonial-era heritage, has gorgeous green spaces explore, not to mention the food, wine and events.
And, the place is booming. In fact, it’s one of the fastest growing communities in the country.
From Battista, you’re within easy reach of some of the best cafes and restaurants in town, including L'Espresso, Johnny Alloo, F.I.K.A Coffee Brewsters, Moon & Mountain, Hydrant Food Hall, Forge Pizzeria, Mitchell Harris Wines, Ragazzone and underbar. There are loads of farmers markets and craft beer options to explore, too.
And, you can step back in time at Sovereign Hill or Kryal Castle, then have a cuddle with some furry friends at the Ballarat Wildlife Park. Or, take time to smell the flowers, stroll Lake Wendouree and then check out The Art Gallery of Ballarat.
The city centre is on your doorstep if you fancy a walk, otherwise buses, taxis and Uber are all available. The train station is nearby too.
There is another property within the church.
The property is not suitable for children.

House Rules
To ensure a pleasant stay for everyone, please follow these guidelines:
Be Nice: Treat our staff and contractors like the rockstars they are.
Smoking: Allowed only outdoors, away from doors and windows. Don’t worry, the plants won’t mind.
No Firearms: Leave your slingshots and cannons at home.
No Fireworks: Because we don’t want your holiday to end with a bang (literally).
No Illegal Activities: We’re not running a crime drama here.
Keep It Down: Channel your inner ninja and keep noise levels reasonable.
Guest Limit: Only the number of guests listed in the booking can stay overnight. No sneaky sleepovers.
No Parties: Let’s keep it cosy, not crazy.
Pets: Only dogs are allowed at our properties, and only with prior approval. Check the listing for specific pet rules—Fido deserves a holiday too, but only if we've given the green light!
Upon Check-Out
Dishes: Wash and put away. Pretend you’re at home and your mum is watching.
Turn Off: All lights, heaters, and coolers. Help us save the planet.
Pet Cleanup: Don’t leave us any surprises.
Clean BBQ: If you used it, give it a scrub. We love a good BBQ, but not the cleanup.
Trash: Put it in the correct bins outside. Channel your inner recycling guru.
Linens: Don’t wash them. Seriously, we’ve got it covered.
If these rules are broken, we may have to cancel your stay with no refund. We really don’t want to do that.
