The stench of this hotel lobby/lobby bathroom is like nothing I have ever smelled in my entire life. It was so bad that we opted to wait for our cars outside of the hotel rather than spending another minute inside. The staff was polite, yet really no help when it came to basic questions about the area / tours / general information, even when translated. Save your time and money on this one.

Convenient location
In a great location between subway lines 5 and 8 for easy access to all the tourist spots you'll most likely want to visit. For me it was a place to get my head down after full days out exploring Beijing. Room was a nice bug size with a little table/sofa area which is handy to use to work from. Fridge in the room and free water was regularly restocked. Nice shower. I've knocked off 1 star because the breakfast was, quite frankly, awful. This may just be because I had come from a different hotel where breakfast was incredible but after the first day I only went down to get a coffee and a small pastry - with it being so hot, I didn't feel like I needed much more to keep me going, I was mostly drinking water.

Convenient location, close to Subway station to allow easy access to tourist attractions. The hotel itself is nice, but as most reviews have said, tired looking and a little out dated. I had a large double bed, very comfortable and the room was cleaned daily.

Bad sound proof, noisy.
Room is clean and spacious. But our room is situated right beside the lift as a result there are noises in the early morning and late night. The room has very bad sound proof. Therefore we couldn’t get much rest during the 3 night stay there.

City Hotel - Great location
Hotel was in a great location, close to many main tourist attractions and close to metro (which was easy to use). Staff were friendly and helpful. They assisted a great deal with ticket reservation and checking information as i speak no mandarin. I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel is easiy accessible. Within walking distance (5mins) to Wangfujing Pedestrian Street. A few nice eateries around. Walking distance to Jinyu Hutong metro station too. Quiet at night. Room is big and clean.

And they arrange us lives in the basement . The room is too small to open 2 suitcases at the same time. Cannot get internet or wifi. Just is a horrible experience, we will never stay there again. But the staffs is very nice and friendly.

Decent room well kept, great breakfast, popular and good variety. Getting there from subway w/luggage was troublesome until we explored a bit after arrival as most obvious route was bumpy cobblestone or uneven pedestrian for rolling baggage. (Tip- you can get to the subway smoothly by turning left when you leave hotel and then left at the first street again which is barred for any vehicles and leads to major global brand stores area and there is an office building around the corner from the Nike store that has an elevator down to a food court, down to the subway all with elevators or escalators for your luggage. Other wise your hauling it up or down and even then the transfer to the airport train line only has stairs and a ramp up. See pic) Decent local food and you can still use cash including the subway. Subway goes most anyway at low cost and faster than above ground but a LOT of stairs. Room fridge is useless if you need to keep medication cool as temp is 16-22 C. (Thermo electric not conventional compress fridge like in homes or restaurants. Two stores very close if you want to bring a cold beverage home tho.Some tourist sites like “the square” have to be booked well in advance and difficult to do from another county. We were lucky and managed to get into Forbidden City on a walk up basis based on age. Always carry at least a photo of passport as everything is based on resident ID or passport number for site admin, great wall or even getting off at certain subways

Great location, walking distance to Wang Fu Jing, the shopping street. Near all the sightseeing location like Forbidden City, Tiananmen, Yiheyuan etc. Good service, clean room.
