Weekend in the Woods
This is a beautiful cabin on a mountain with a beautiful view. The cabin was clean, well laid out and comfortable. For the cabin to sleep 8, there could be more seating in the main living room. We ended up just using chairs from the dining room which wasnt as comfortable as the couch & recliners. The beds were comfortable and the downstairs was definitely much cooler than the rest of the cabin- which was nice in September for some hot sleepers in our group.

Very nice but not for the money spent
The home is beautiful however the layout is dumb. The main floor bedroom does not have its own bathroom. The upstairs bedroom is considered the primary suite however it is an open loft....no privacy. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs. The one is a suite, the other, the people have to either go thru the bedroom to use that bathroom or they have to go upstairs and use the bathroom on main floor. The fireplace is useless. It does not kick out any warmth and wouldn't even stay on continuously. We called property management and they were not helpful. Disappointing. Also, the kitchen was not as well stocked as it said in the description. I think there was 1 wine glass (a bummer when more than one person wants to have a glass of wine). And when they clean after each renter leaves, they take everything. I have rented many places for much less and they have always left condiments, spices, coffee, more paper products, etc......The view was OK. I was expecting to see mountains and instead I felt like I was in a neighborhood. You can hear the cars on the highway and someone was doing construction so that is what we listened to each day. I know that is out of the owners control but you can hear everything going on around you.

The check in process and communication was phenomenal. However, we were extremely cold in the home. On the very first night we called after hours number for maintenance and he came and stated the furnace was running properly. The next day we were still cold and I called maintenance again, but this time no one came to the cabin to check the unit. The outside trashcans are too small for a large party that is staying during the Holiday. In my opinion it's not fair to your guest to have to travel 17-20 miles for a dumping area or be charged $10 per bag left at the cabin. EVERY person that was in my party is now sick with some sort of respiratory issue!
