Holidays in Boz

Adventure. Relaxation. Adventure. Relaxation. Off to Boz but can't figure out what sort getaway you're after? Don't get in a tizz! We'll help sort it out.

It lies 330 kilometres southeast of Paris, the capital city of France.

Take a journey out to Polliat, 25 kilometres away. Once you're there, you ought to head straight over to Brou Cathedral.

The St. Marcel Caves in Ardeche, 40 kilometres away, is the place to head for clean, fresh air and a day out in nature. It's well worth the journey.

Are you a huge sports fan? Then you should look up the event schedule at Le Colisée, located 45 kilometres to the north in Chalon-sur-Saone.

Nothing compares to a day spent gliding down the powdery snow at Tourist Office of Gex - La Faucille. Find yourself a trail map once you arrive and see how many runs you can master!

If you're contemplating venturing further afield, head 3 kilometres east to Gorrevod. It's here you'll discover the Golf de Macon la Salle and the Mâcon-La Salle Golf. We also suggest stopping by Asnieres-sur-Saone, 3 kilometres to the southwest, for the Musee Lamartine and Pont Saint-Laurent.

Go on a day trip and see some sights in Charnay-les-Macon. This place is 15 kilometres to the southwest and quite close to the Domaine du Chalet Pouilly, the Chateau Fuisse and the Chateau de Salornay. Of course, don't forget about the Musée des Ursulines and the Musée Départemental de Préhistoire de Solutré either.

Eating is one of life's greatest pleasures, and since you're reading this, you probably think travel is too. Combine your love for both by going out and trying the local food and drink offerings at the bars, restaurants and cafés in town.

This area has a unique cooking style based on traditional ingredients and local tastes. You'll discover sausages and mushrooms are commonly used in much of the fare.

While Boz features an assortment of culinary pleasures, don't leave without sampling fondue savoyarde (bread cubes dipped in cheese and wine fondue) and tripoux (tripe 'parcels' in savoury sauce). Considered signature recipes, you'll have to put them on your must-eat list if you truly want to taste this destination.

'Stressed' spelled backwards is 'desserts', and that's not just a coincidence. There's no more scrumptious way to let your cares melt away than with bugnes (crispy doughnuts), a sweet treat that's often found on dining tables here.

There's a vineyard full of reasons why you should order Gigondas or Chardonnay. These fine drops draw wine authorities from near and far.

Before you pack up and wave "À plus tard", why not spend the last of your holiday allowance and treat yourself to some lasting reminders of Boz?

Time to hit the tarmac? Pack your bag, set the alarm clock and make a plan to get to Cointrin International Airport (GVA). It's some 95 kilometres to the east.
