Starting the check-in process with this company is an exercise in how little they can do while making you jump through unnecessary hoops. Apparently, accessing the property now requires downloading yet another app—because who doesn’t love filling up their phone with pointless apps?
Fine, I got over that. Things were fine until check-out when they tried to charge me €30 for "inappropriate use of a towel." Who knew there were towel usage rules? I guess I missed the memo on international towel etiquette. Apparently, after stepping in dog feces and using a hand towel to clean off my hand, I violated some unspoken standard. But the real kicker? They accused me of something far more unsanitary, as if the staff had taken it upon themselves to police how guests use towels.
Then came the claim that it made the maid "uncomfortable." Why anyone was digging through my pile of dirty, wet towels is beyond me, but apparently, that’s part of their job. It felt like they were just looking for any excuse to tack on an extra fee, especially given how low their rates were. Who knew staying at a budget-friendly place would come with a lecture on towel propriety and a surprise charge for using one like a normal human?
