Griffiths Cottage - 2 Bedroom

Griffiths Cottage is a quaint self-contained stone cottage boasting quintessential Burra style and charm. Picture yourself stepping back in time and relaxing in the cosy living room with the fire going and a glass of red in the colder months or to sitting outside enjoying the cottage garden and watching the chickens forage in the warmer months. Griffiths cottage is set up to help you relax and have the perfect base as you explore the historic town of Burra.

Our guests love to wander through the garden, lovingly tended to by Sue who lives in the main house on the large block. At various times in the year we may be able to offer fresh fruit, vegetables or herbs and eggs as well.

Provisions are left for continental breakfasts or there are several cafes in town where you can have cooked breakfasts or lunch.

The cottage consists of 2 bedrooms with a double bed in one and the second room with 2 single beds. The space is set up perfectly for mum and dad and 2 kids.

You will have access to the entire place.

We will provide guests with Sue’s details (who lives in a separate dwelling on the property) so you can communicate with her during your stay. We ask that guest notify Sue when they are an hour away from the cottage.

The cottage is easy walking distance to the Bon Accord Mine and Museum, Bon Accord Hotel and the Historic Railway Station.

Burra is a small town in the mid North of South Australia. It is heritage listed due to its rich history with copper mining.
Burra is very picturesque with many stone cottages and buildings.
You can picnic by the creek or explore the mining heritage using the Burra Passport key available from the Visitor Centre.

Visit the History Group in the Town Hall to research your family history.

Children are welcome. The cottage can sleep up to 4 people.
If you book for 2 people, it is considered you are a couple using 1 bed. If 2 people require 2 seperate beds, a once off $50 surcharge applies.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a quiet building, perfect to relax and enjoy, so please no loud noise & no parties. Quiet Hours are between: 11PM and 8AM. We are in constant contact with the surrounding neighbours who will let us know if there is any disturbances.

NO SMOKING: Strictly NO smoking inside, on the balcony or in any outside areas.

PENALTIES: If any damage is caused, smoking takes place or there is evidence of a party there may a financial penalty plus we will request the repair costs plus the extra cleaning costs. If a guest coming in needs to be moved to another property due to the damage or smell of smoke still being present, we will also request the cost of that nights stay. Please respect these rules.
