The location and town are great for a quiet getaway. There are a couple of good beaches to the west of the town - the best on the island. Making the trip on the ferry to the neighbouring small island is also worth it. Take the car and travel to the furthest beach on the west side of the island - we had the place to ourselves.
In May, none of the beach-side facilities were open, so take your own supplies. The weather was good enough, although we did have a couple of cloudy days.
The hotel itself is good. Breakfast is a simple buffet with a few pastries, cornflakes, yoghurt and some simple bread. Plus the weird toast in a packet the Italians apparently love - so odd!
We took the best room, which was larger the the others. Shower was OK, but would have expected a bath. Double bed was actually two twins and wasn't comfortable. A small balcony was nice, but totally enclosed and got no sun - good for drying swimsuits only. No English TV - but you shouldn't be watching it anyway!
Staff were friendly and helpful. Cleaning daily and didn't have any problems leaving valuables out.
Overall we'd recommend the island, town and hotel. It's a quiet getaway, but if you want a 4 or 5 star hotel this is not it. To be fair, nor does it claim to be.
