Older property not maintained well. Main door on my room had a huge gap allowing hot air and humidity to enter and keeping my A/C running longer than needed creating a muggy moist feeling. Bathroom is outdated. Plug next to bed was empty, my charger did not work and had to plug next to TV. Overall great people but badly maintained property.

Wonderful relaxing vacation from the moment I arrived. At the front desk, friendly faces welcoming a solo traveler & very helpful. Dining room service, at the pool service & bar service was wonderful. Dont forget to TIP YOUR SERVERS. Clean rooms great air conditioning, great balcony views. Beautiful place, great value... was there before...will be back again. Was there offseason so overcrowding not an issue. Don't forget to tip your servers

The hotel doesn’t treat everyone the same it was my anniversary and they didn’t do anything special another couple of got an upgrade a bottle of wine and upgraded room

It is very convenient close to the Cancun airport. Very clean and staff is very friendly. Wish there beach was little more clean.

The property was well maintained. The beach was not the best as it was small and not the green and blue beaches that you would expect. The hotel also made us wait until 3pm to get our room, which is a first time experience for us. Normally when we arrive to the hotels in Cancun even if we are early we are given our room assignment. There were only 3 restaurants and only 2 were open the entire stay.

Came for anniversary, room they gave us was extremely dirty and beds weren't in there places. Second room given to us the AC didn't want to work. Third room given to us the sink was leaking and their floor lamp was broken leaning against the wall. At the there was a glass shard in the pool I cut my foot up, bleeding like crazy, they wanted me to fill out a document saying they are not responsible and/or liable etc. I refused. Not the type of vacation you are looking for if you are celebrating a special occasion. Extremely dissapointing especially when you have been looking forward to escape from celebrate and have down time. They did approach us afterwards to mend everything with a room upgrade, specialty dining, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. It was bad the first 24 hours of is arriving, but I will definitely accept that Sheyla and Luis from management worked very hard to help us. The bartenders Enrique and Gerardo and servers Sandra and Carmen were spectacular! The girls that were in charge of entertainment a special shout-out to them.

This is my second time staying in Occidental. The food was boring. Breakfast was left overs from dinner, no bacon, or sausages. Every day a chicken and pork. It got so boring we had to eat off the resort and we had a better meal. The staff was very friendly but constantly coming in our room for various things without waiting for us to answer. Guest services guy name Sergio was very rude and he was the last time we were there. Many servers were very pleasant except one pool server. She wanted to know why my friend was of a certain Latino race. Very rude and none of her business. Do mot get a room by the snack bar. Extremely noisy. We could hardly sleep direct next to the snack bar. If the food was better we would come back but I don’t think we will.

The staff Anthony Urbano, maria hernandez y Gualberto are the top of the top, very helpful and provide the best service! They make you feel you are in a 5 star hotel!!!! The drinks can be improved, the alcohol you can barely taste it. The beach area is not the best, they should do something about it.

I have stated at Occidental costa 4 different occasions. This last stay November the 4 th , through the 8th was not as good as before. I was put in a non handicapped room for the first 3 days . I’m a double amputee so 100 percent wheelchair bound . Actually had to leave my room and use a public restroom. This was so inconvenient for me. Also couldn’t shower for the first 3 days. Finally got a handicapped room on the evening of November 6 th

Our room was spotless, and the common areas were always well-maintained. The housekeeping team did a great job every day. it was a great stay. The hotel had a nice pool and good shows Also, there offers excellent and varied food quality. The reception staff had a bad attitude was rude and acted like they were bothered by our questions.They gave me my room late and made me stand in line again to give me the key. The phone in my room never worked during my stay, I reported it but it was never fixed.
