This hotel in Tulum is an absolute disaster. The rooms are dark, dirty, and full of mold — it’s honestly a health hazard. The air smells damp, and it’s clear that upkeep has been neglected for years. What’s worse is the customer service. The staff is unresponsive and borderline rude, acting as though they’re doing you a favor just by being there.
The price is outrageous for what you’re getting. This might have been a nice place to stay a decade ago or even five years back, but now it’s just overpriced trash. It’s clear the management has let this place fall into complete disrepair while still charging like it’s a five-star resort.
If you’re considering staying here, don’t. Tulum has plenty of other options that actually care about their guests. This place is a total rip-off
Very nice hotel but the street it is on is in very bad shape. From pot holes to sketchy looking people, it made us feel very uneasy walking around. Overall we had a great experience at the hotel but it did feel over priced. Not sure we would go back.
The hotel is abnormally dark- service level by calling room service or concierge is a coin toss if someone picks up. We called for 5 days straight for extra towels, and not once it was delivered. Rooms are super dark and absolutely not kid-friendly. Be ready for hot water to run out and cockroaches and raccoons to visit your room throughout your stay. We are never staying here again. And for the price you pay, as if you’re in Beverly Hills 5-star resort, the food is half okay. We are not staying here ever again.

Toxic and carcinogenic!! Beware!!!
We had the ocean front suit, #105. We immediately noticed a very strong foreign smell all throughout the room. It smelled a bit like moth balls. After a day I realized they had used old railroad ties for the front door and the bathroom counter and other elements in the suite. Railroad ties are soaked in creosote which is a toxin and known carcinogen and should NEVER be used indoors for construction. Then we started smelling strong sewer smell. It was coming from the drain in the shower. So half the time it smelled like a cesspool and the other half like a toxic factory. We had to keep all the doors to the outside open the entire time. I called the manager about 5 times to come to the room so I can show him person the issues. He finally showed up and agreed with everything and said he would “do something for us”. We had the second most expensive room. I paid average of $1250 per night! So when I went to check out I asked what they “did for us” to compensate for the room filled with toxic carcinogenic material and the lady looked at me blankly. A different manager was there and I again voiced my concerns to him. He started fiddling with the computer and said the best he could do was take 20% off the food bill. I kept pressing him and explaining our horrible experience in the room and in the end “all he could do” was give me a $133 discount off my entire stay which was well over $7,000 total. I was shocked. I will never be back to Nomade or their property next door, Be Tulum.

The place is unique and overall was a good stay. I’d say more than a week might get a little boring, it’s a little remote so you could taxi to places but we didn’t want to. Pretty good food options around. Food quality is good in the area and the resort although I would say the food tasted better the last time I was there 4 years ago. Service food wise is a bit long when you’re dining in. Breakfast would be an hour long on average for 2-4 people. Food & drinks tasted better at the restaurant vs having it served to you at the beach. You can walk the hotel with no shoes which is cool but then sand ends up in your room and bed and they don’t have slippers so I didn’t like that. Service is not as good as it would be at an all inclusive resort, seems like they don’t really care but still fine. If your room is closer to the beach than your room is quieter, we heard a lot of complaints from guests about the rooms closer to the road and the running generators. They have a 2nd restaurant open on Thursdays which the music played really loud until 1am and that was frustrating, they said that restaurant was going to be open in December every day in 2024. Sometimes the neighboring resort had music thumping until 12am. If your staying in the tents you’ll hear way more overall.
Hotel is great right on the beach. We took a tent room in the jungle and came back at night to find our room being ransacked. Y what I can tell were raccoons who stole all our duty free chocolates from our luggage which we found quite hilarious. What I didn’t like was the hotel didn’t give us a late check out after I did request in advance and they hotel was clearly not full I feel they just didn’t want to.

We had an amazing time at this hotel. The vibe was really laid back and mixed with nature. Private rooms , open baths , we absolutely loved it.
Was beautiful. Absolutely loved. Only thing I would hope they change since they are xatering to tourists is not calling some of the rooms “bungalows”. A bungalow and a tent are 2 very different things to pretty much everyone in the world, but apparently not to Nomade. They were very accommodating and switched my room (for an extra fee of course) but I never would have booked a tent. It was a lovely tent but not what I would’ve chosen. The actual room I moved too was FANTASTIC!!!!
