we booked an exclusive villa suite at La Petite Dauphine as that was all that was available there and places we had stayed in previously were booked up. but it was wonderful and we would definitely choose it again for our next stay in Franschoek - although one of 2 detached villas in the grounds, away from the main accommodation, it felt as if we were on our own. the accommodation was huge, with a very large dressing room/ bathroom, plenty of storage for clothes, an area with fridge, tiny sink and nespresso and tea making facilites. The room was beautifully furnished with sofa, armchairs, day bed etc and we had a large deck with large plunge pool (big enough for me to swim a few strokes) and very comfortable loungers and chairs - great for morning coffee, afternoon tea and early evening drinks! The views were beautiful, looking over lovely planting, with a lake, and mountains all around. Only a 5 minute drive to the centre where parking is easy. Breakfast was on the terrace at Cafe BonBon, again with beautiful views and a great choice.
