Holidays in Caves Beach
Caves Beach is a destination with heaps of cool stories to tell. If you think your life's been a bit dull lately, a trip here is the perfect answer!
It sits 330 kilometres northeast of Australia's capital, Canberra.
Spend a day picnicking on the shoreline at Bondi Beach or Newport Beach.
Escape on a journey to some nearby natural sights. 30 kilometres out of Caves Beach, Blue Bay Beach is waiting to be explored. Wyrrabalong National Park, 25 kilometres away, is another a popular place to hang out in the outdoors.
Join the legion of excited fans rooting for the Central Coast Mariners FC at their home turf of Central Coast Stadium, 45 kilometres away in Point Clare. Blend in with the locals by getting into the club's colours, blue and yellow.
Seeking more things to see and do? Head to Cams Wharf, 3 kilometres southwest of Caves Beach, for the Belmont Golf Course and Munmorah State Conservation Area. Alternatively, Eleebana is 13 kilometres to the north, and it's here you'll find Blackbutt Reserve and Glenrock State Conervation.
Magenta Shores Beach, the Magenta Shores Golf Course and Swadling Reserve are all really close to The Entrance, 30 kilometres to the southwest. Need more reasons to swing by? Toonwoon Bay Beach and the Magenta Shores Golf and Country Club aren't far away either.
To truly experience a destination is to try its food and drink, so get set to munch, crunch, sip and slurp your way around Central Coast. The only thing you need to bring with you is a good appetite!
Want some insight into the regional food? We recommend getting a taste for beef and oysters, two common ingredients which make up lots of dishes here.
Don't pass up the chance to order a plate of salt and pepper squid or meat pie. These classic dishes come highly recommended by the locals.
Do you still have a bit of give in your waistband after dinner? Then put in your order for peach melba, a mouthwatering dessert.
If you've worked up a thirst and would love to indulge in a glass of amber nectar, we suggest Hahn. Grab a stool during happy hour, make some new pals and bottoms up!
Bundaberg Spiced Rum is most certainly worth sampling. Mixed or on the rocks? The bar person should have a few taste bud-tickling recommendations.
Watch out for Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon and Orange region Merlot on the wine menus. They're regional specialities for both vino savants and novices alike.
When you're ready to fly back home, give yourself enough time to get to Kingsford Smith International Airport (SYD). Located 100 kilometres to the southwest from the centre of Caves Beach, this is the closest terminal.
