Great place, great location, amazing lake view. Parking is way too expensive and there is no coffee maker in the room (which is a boomer for me). Besides that the rooms are roomy and very comfortable.

Staff in lobby was friendly but very presumptuous, I had never stayed at the property before; I was dismissed with keys and so I had to ask where to find elevators, asked about my breakfast vouchers, restaurant hours, basically everything. But the answers were correct and courteous. No free WiFi, it costs $14.95 for 24 hours up to 3 devices. Signs everywhere with the cost of taking bath products supplied ($45 for shampoo bottle, for example). The hallways all smell like pot but I can’t really criticize this place because I think this is how every hotel smells anymore. Breakfast (meal and staff) was really good.

My biggest complaint is that we used their valet, and one of their drivers decided to take our car for a joy ride. The garage is right next to the hotel so we know it didn’t take 7 miles to get there. All of our mirrors were adjusted to his view. Our seat was moved to his position. He marked the inside of our window with a gang sign, which I can only assume was because he left our car unlocked for people to search through. My Chanel sunglasses are the only thing I can tell were stolen (so far). Very bold move by this guy. We saw the gang symbol after we checked out and that’s when I searched my car to see what’s missing, and realized the sunglasses were stolen. I would’ve notified the hotel myself if we saw it earlier.

Excellent stay at W Lakeshore. Has an amazing view of the city and is walking distance to any place of interest you might want to visit downtown. I would definitely stay here again.
