Is your phone full of travel inspo quotes? Does the airport make you excited like a 4-year-old on Christmas day? You’re a travel addict, and it’s time to get your next hit in Chinatown, San Francisco! One of the best parts of travelling is meeting new people. And with 800,000 locals living in this prominent city, there are plenty of opportunities to make new BFFs. You'll find Chinatown 0.8 kilometres north of central San Francisco. From Oakland International Airport, it's 19 kilometres to the northwest.

This city is bursting with things to see and do, and many of them are found near Chinatown. It's no easy task to pick the best sights, but Golden Gate Bridge and the University of San Francisco are two you shouldn't miss. You should also be sure to stop by Pier 39 and Crooked Lombard Street. A great way to soak up this city is to wander some of its neighbourhoods. So why not make your way to nearby Jackson Square and Financial District and explore their unique charms?

Seeing world-famous sights like the University of California San Francisco is a big part of why we travel. If you base yourself in Chinatown, it's a cinch to reach. You'll find it just 6 kilometres to the southwest.

You'll never be deprived of things to do in the city centre. Twin Peaks and the Exploratorium will keep you occupied for hours. It'd be a shame to leave the area without having a look around the California Academy of Sciences and Golden Gate Park as well.

Need to let your hair down and relax? Exciting options include the Anchor Brewing Company, the Pacific-Union Club and the Letterman Digital and New Media Arts Center.

The area's numerous cultural places, such as the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, the Fort Mason, the Intersection for the Arts and the Circus Center, cannot be missed!

Local galleries such as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, the De Young Museum and the Cartoon Art Museum are a gateway into the creative history of the area. Why not see if there's an opening on and observe some of the remarkable works?

Sometimes it's the star exhibits that stand out. Other times it's an under-appreciated object that's been relegated to a darkly lit corner. Keep a lookout for both at the Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum, Wax Museum at Fisherman's Wharf, the Walt Disney Family Museum and the Contemporary Jewish Museum.

What better way to end a day's activities than with dinner, drinks and a performance? Check the programme listings at the Louise Davies Symphony Hall, the Orpheum Theater, Bill Graham Civic Auditorium and Teatro ZinZanni.

Kids often have fun in rather unusual places. Grab your camera and capture the moments at Aquarium of the Bay, the San Francisco Public Library, the Castro Theatre and Steinhart Aquarium.

Yerba Buena Ice Skating Center and Golden Gate Model Railroad Club are some brilliant places to take the children for a day of fun and excitement.

Put your phone down, disengage from the chaos of modern living and take in the serenity of the outdoors at Alcatraz Island, Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco, California, United States of America, the Japanese Tea Garden and San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park.

Keep a lookout for native flora and fauna as you hike around the appealing landscapes of Crissy Field, the San Francisco Botanical Garden and the McLellan Botanicals.

A special feature of this place is its nearby green spaces. Among the hustle and bustle, you won't struggle to find a place to relax and recharge. Conservatory of Flowers, Yerba Buena Gardens, Pioneer Park and Aquatic Park are great options.

The shopping experience is unique to everyone. Whether you have something in mind or just want to browse, you can't go past Ghirardelli Square, Westfield San Francisco Centre, Crocker Galleria and Ferry Building Marketplace.

There's no finer way to add some excitement to your trip than by getting along to a live match at AT&T Park. The venue also offers behind-the-scenes tours where you can walk in the footsteps of San Francisco Giants players and picture how it would feel to hear the crowd chanting your name.
