We loved our time on this boat! It was a fun experience and something different than just a traditional hotel. Breakfast was good and good sized bathrooms and showers. What made it extra special was the staff. Both gentleman who we interacted with were super nice and funny, making the experience that much better. Plus we entered our rooms to find ear plugs and a small bag of gummy bears which was awesome. Would definitely stay again.
Nice accommodation, helpful and friendly staff. Room, shower and toilet clean. Not far from center. Large free parking. I will be happy to stay again in the future.
I really enjoyed staying on the boat, breakfast was superb, walking the river side into town was nice, however the boat does not have views of the river, it is on an inlet and therefore the views are not particularly interesting. There is a lovely family atmosphere on the boat and staff were help and friendly.
We had a great visit enjoying friendly helpful staff as well as conversation over beers with other guests. We enjoyed a concert in a park 500m away which enhanced our short stay. Never having stayed in a boat like this it was a fun experience, one we would try again!

Located close to city center and affordable bike rental, whixh we greatly enjoyed to explore the city
We stayed for just one night, and it was comfortable and pleasant! Nice boat with a history. We were in captain’s cabin, which was really cool: spacious, clean, and nice.
A little upset with being charged €4.50 for parking in a lot marked as “free parking” in google maps. (In fact, the receptionist asked us where we parked. Wondering what would happen if we said we don’t have a car and gonna use Uber?) staff could learn a little about hospitality ...
The staff were very friendly, everything was always clean, and I felt safe traveling as a single woman. The area itself could be perfect because it's close to the river and park but there's an establishment close by that plays very loud techno music for most of the day and night. The loud bass kind of makes it hard to enjoy the river or nature.
Unusual hotel boat 10 minutes walk from the Neustadt station. Friendly helpful staff and clean rooms. ***warning*** you need a torch after dark as the path/road in poorly lit
This was a quirky place to stay, our room was on the top deck and was simply furnished, but comfortable. Our room had a sink. The bunks were a little small and lacked head room, but we all seemed to sleep well.
It was interesting to see the fish jumping outside the boat!
The receptionist was very knowledgeable and helped us plan our visit to Dresden.
The only negative was the shower arrangements, the communal showers desperately need modernisation to make them fit for purpose. Also the Wi-Fi does not reach the bedrooms.
Really enjoyed it. Liked the opportunity to which with other guests because of the confirmed nature of a boat

Great experience afloat but....
This is a great site and a bit quirky which makes it fun. Its an old training ship and we took a family room with two sets of bunk beds - the room was spacious (for a ship) and had sinks for washing teeth but we had to use the common bathroom and shower facilities down the hall which was no problem. There is wifi but only really in the office/dining area but it was no major hardship. We had the breakfast which was great - bit of a grazing experience and tried a few new things but overall it was worth the money. The staff were great - we were met by Alex who explained how everything worked and then provided us with a recommended itinerary and maps for our visit. The ship is located on the bicycle path next to the Elbe river and a 10 minute walk can take you up to the tram line and from there you can easily get around the city - we bought a day (24 hr) family ticket for 9 Euro so its not expensive. So far so good - the downside is that you are on a boat and noise travels. We stayed over a weekend and were kept awake by other occupants who enjoyed a night in town and then partied when they got back to the boat - there are no staff onboard overnight and we just hunkered down and tried to get some sleep. Additionally the ship is moored close to a nightclub which is active at weekends - depends on your view/age but it was noisy. Therefore would thoroughly recommend the experience but perhaps avoid weekends if you are not a party animal.

Staying on an old excursión boat was an interesting change from the typical hotel stay.

Romantic place for young people
Romantic ship in a quiet bay near the river Elbe. Rooms are clean with very comfortable mattress but small. In hot wheather the water around gets quite smelly. There is a pub just opposite on the other side of the lake playing till late some horrible music - the cheapest possible. In the lower storey the air is a bit smelly and heavy. The way from the public transport to the ship is quite bad unless one walks on the street. Shower & toilets are clean. Ideal place for young people. Very good transport connections.
Poppelmann is a conversion of the Paddle Motor Vessel KARL MARX, one of four built in 1964 for service on the Elbe at Dresden. The cabins are along a corridor on the lower deck. Unfortunately they do not have private facilities and I had to walk past all the other cabins to reach the shower and toilets. The shower is communal with three shower heads side bu side.
In the cabin we were in the bed as on a three foot high platform and you had to climb in and slide off at the botom of the bed. This was due to the shape of the hull at that point

Interesting place for short stay
Very close to all attractions but probably suit backpackers and young people best. Is unfortunately/fortunately in a party area and the musicbeats on until the early. Hours- ask for a cabin on the left/port? Side on the lower deck to escape most of it. But good fun however probably advixsable to avoid friday and saturday night when it goes on until sun up in summer.
To get to it you think your in the slums but once their you realise you in the perfect spot. 3 bar restaurants are 2 min walk, one done out like a beach bar with sand and volleyball courts. We walked into the Alt stadt which was about 10/15 min walk along the banks of the river Elbe. The boat is basic, but the price is too, the ablutions are shared but clean. We had a cracking stay.
