It’s on the other side of the river where the older section is where most of the restaurants and shopping is but it’s only about a 15 minute walk. It is very close to the famous park with the fountain and gardens where Sound of Music scenes were filmed. It’s also a short walk to the booth to book various tours. The hotel has a beautiful rooftop restaurant and bar with a view of the city. There is also a basement restaurant with great traditional food in large portions. It’s worth the extra few minutes of walking to get to the other side of the river.

The service is excellent and people are super honest and friendly. I forgot my purse in the roof top bar . They contacted front desk immediately to ensure they to catch me while I took elevator down . I also forgot my thermos bottle while I checked out. I was able to contact them and have it to be shipped it to me. The bed is super comfortable and room is lovely. We had very wonderful beautiful time there

Very nice hotel. Unfortunate acoustics.
Make sure your room is on the second floor above ground level or higher. There was a very loud function in the event room on the ground level that didn’t end until 1:00AM that made it impossible to sleep. Irritating as we had a very early start the next day.

I liked the central location of this property, equidistant from the train station and Old Town. It was close to the park and within walking distance (about 15 min) of Old Town. The staff were all excellent! Friendly and especially helpful in setting up tours.

From the moment we walked we were welcomed. Richard at the front desk was very helpful. He answered all our questions and offered other services we didn’t think of. The room was very comfortable. The next morning we went to breakfast and was greeted by Phillip. He was very professional and at the same time showed a genuine interest in our welfare. My friend also visited the bar in the evening and was also impressed. I would consider as my home in Salzburg when I come again.
