Great affordable place to stay in Galway. Clean and comfy. Very busy place and was a bit noisy for sleeping.

The Corib Villiage was perfect as i was attending a conference at the University. It was a bit out of town, but easily accessible by bus and taxi. The main downside for me was that there was nowhere within walking distance to get dinner. Also, the shop on site was really expensive - 1.5 euros for 2 bananas. But staff were really friendly and the room was clean.

A reasonable budget option.
Friendly greeting on arrival. Problem with Wi-Fi solved promptly. Very convenient for shop / cafe and shuttle bus. No tv in room (which I knew, but under-estimate my wish for it once there). Sound-proofing limited, noticeable at chucking-out time at the International Arts Festival.

It was great to have access to the full kitchen, and have a little space in the bedroom. There was no soap in the shared bathroom, which there should be for four rooms of people using the toilet. Bed was comfortable, shuttle was very convenient! Tried for 15 minutes to get the shower going but couldn’t get hot water - also didn’t contact the staff as we were getting ready to check out so just gave up but I may well have just not flipped a switch I needed to or made some other “user error”. Overall would stay again!

Just a basic room with a bed & cupboard , very noise.with doors slamming at all hours loud talking in rooms , i think for the price you pay it's a overpriced hostel.

Good place
The CorribVillage was a good place on stay as it was within an easy bus ride of the centre of town. It is early in the season, so many things needed to be fixed....we had issues with our keys and the wifi, but the maintenance people came quickly to fix these problems. The kitchen was very useful as well. It was not clear that you had to pay for breakfast, it seemed to be included when we booked it, but it was not in fact included in the price.

Cheap stay and close to the city
good stay and with a few more improvements it would be a good nights hotel. the rooms where not sound proof enough - need seals to the doors perhaps

Disappointing cheap but not worth the rate
disappointing.Water cold at 4.30pm when took shpwer after hours of travelling.Waited 40 minutes with 2 calls to staff to then report to reception as cpuld not wait for them to get maintenance nan to be told he wpupd fix it in kitchen not room.waste of time!No apologies either just unknowledgeable staff senior and younger so not great. Be warned the spiwl does not tell you is 7€extra to access kitchen so self catering is a misnomer .Unbelievable!Lucky i did not rely on self catering but others may do.Noone explained this till i came to complain about lack of hpt water and said my key would not work in kitchen door.

Dorm style living on campus, close to Galway City
The Corrib Village is a great economic alternative to booking into a hotel. It is dorm style accommodations on the NUI campus. However you need not be a participant at the university to stay here. We booked a private double room ensuite. We were provided with clean towels, clean linens, bars of soap, and vials of shampoo. The bathroom was tiny by American standards but very clean. The small shower stall had a glass door and we had full force hot and cold water. Corrib Village is fairly close to Galway City and they provide free shuttles to the city. (If you are athletically minded it is a 40 minute walk to the city from the campus). The shuttle runs frequently from 12 pm onwards on weekdays and 10 am onwards on weekends. Just remember that the last shuttle is usually early —like 7-8 pm, but the cab ride is not too bad. It will cost about 10 €. The reception desk is friendly and check-in is easy. It being in a campus, there is a cafe on site that serves breakfast (just under 6€) and good coffee, and has a small store attached that sells a wide variety of snacks and necessities. A convenient laundromat is also on site. Booking for a minimum of 2 nights gives you an even better price for your lodging. You can take day trips to the Cliffs of Mohr and the Aran Islands from Galway city. The Aran Islands ferry has an office right in the heart of the city. The Tourist info office is a great resource. Dublin is a three hour ride via bus.

Location is OK but wall in the room is very thin
I request twin room when I booked it. Website showed still have 10 rooms available. They didn't give it to me and said it is not guarantee. I think they just didn't read my message and when I do late check in was no twins room left. Wall was extremely thin. I stayed in a room which was 3 doors away from shower and I can hear the water sounds just like I was living beside it. It was terrible. And whole floor has no bin, the only bin was in the shower. Very inconvenience. €80 for 30 minutes walk to city centre, extremely thin wall, no hot water ( have to pay €7 extra to access kitchen) and no breakfast. I would not recommend

We weren't given the room we had booked so rather than the two beds we were expecting, we were given one full. It ended up working out, but we were expecting our own beds after a long travel day

Reasonably priced. Comfortable bed. Good hot shower. Breakfast provided was basic, but good variety. A little way out of town - had shuttle bus but finished early.
