This is truly one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. The rooms and grounds were clean and beautiful. It's in a fantastic location in walking distance to lots of parks, restaurants, and shops. The staff was generally friendly, especially the housekeeping and spa staff. The beds were super comfy; the bathroom large and luxurious.
A few things to note:
* Our room key deactivated every day for the first part of our trip. I was told it was because the key was close to my phone which deactivates it, but even after I moved the key, I had some troubles. I'm not sure why this happened, but the front desk made me new keys each time...
* If you have a car, driving to this property is...tight. You drive through a fairly tight alley/road and at one point, you will feel like you might not fit. We made it, but it was one of the wilder driving experiences of my life.
* If you have a car, their free parking spaces are at a shopping center about 1 km away. The distance isn't too bad but the walk to and from is very hilly and steep. We ended up taking Ubers back and forth to the shopping center when we needed the car for day trips.
These points didn't take away from our enjoyment of the hotel. I would stay there again! It is a delightful property. Honestly, if you don't need a car for your stay in Guanajuato, I'd not rent one. Ubers are reasonably priced and so much is within walking distance.
