It was a little difficult with a small tired 5 year old going up and down the stair due to no lift and the room was so tiny that we had to eat on the bed causing more laundry. But I have been going there since 1992 due to its location but they used to be much roomier and easy to get around now they are very small and tight.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Staff & service
Service upon departure was non- existent.
No provision in the accesble bathroom to clean up water due to wet room layout, the accessable shower (closest to the windows didnt supply hot water for some reason)
Stayed here many times over the past 10 years, and this is the first time that we have been disappointed.
Staff were excellent. Room faced onto very noisy street at night ( car racing) & unfortunately hotel undergoing renovations ( jack hammers, builders noise). We were advised of this AFTER our booking was made
I stayed in a very small room with a single bed. It was tiny, but adequate. Very convenient location. The lift wasn’t in operation, but the staff were very happy to help with luggage.

Overall, a pleasant place to stay: helpful and obliging staff, both reception and cleaning. Had to ask for bowls and spoons so we could have our muesli for breakfast; didn’t want to buy breakfast as well as lunch and dinner for 9 days! Maintenance issues (television and bath tap) attended to promptly. Renovation noise didn’t bother us; we were out and about most of the time.
Thank you

I got into The Ultimo at the last minute because I'd messed up my booking at another property. The check-in staff were very friendly and efficient. The only downside is that the lifts aren't available for a few months while major renovations are being done but staff carry bags up/down stairs to rooms. My room was very clean with a comfy bed (std queen). I particularly appreciated the separation of the shower from the rest of the bathroom, and the very comfortable chair with a small coffee table. There are many restaurants around the Ultimo, and there's a large Woolies Metro Express on the next corner. It's only a 5 minute walk from Sydney Central station. I'll definitely use the Ultimo as my Sydney hotel when the lifts are working again.
The staffs were nice and helpful. Elevator was out of service but the staffs offered to carry my luggage up and down the stairs which were very helpful. The building was built in 1911 which I experienced the table lamps on both right and left went off and back on few times . I checked the light bulbs and electrical outlets seem fine. Hopefully it wasn’t a haunted building as my friends tried to scare or tease me. Lol
Otherwise the great convenient location had me extended my stay for 2 more nights.

Friendly staff, fantastic value for money, newly refurbished rooms - still in the process from the sounds of it. Would definitely recommend.
Great little spot in the centre of Haymarket.
Extremely convenient to get places, and a very reasonable price too!
Staff were brilliant.
My only mild gripe was the noise from inside the building, I think it needs a wee bit more soundproofing.
The interior design was lovely, while the room was small the colours used and the way the room had been done up made it feel luxurious for the price. Bed was comfortable, bathrooms were clean, entire hotel had a lovely feel about it.
Good/location good if you want access to city & light rail..Staff excellent..rooms clean..
Bad/parkings a shocker/even finding the parking station is hard and if you happen to drive in the wrong one you don't get a discount..signage bad..
Great Chinatown hotel, directly opposite Paddy’s Market. Rooms have been nicely renovated and well sound proofed. Value for money. In-house laundry is convenient and reasonably priced at $6 to wash and dry a load. Staff are friendly and helpful. Many dining and shopping options nearby and two supermarkets near the hotel. Easy transport options to get around Sydney and only 5 minutes walk to Central Station. Facilities rating is lower as the elevator was out of service for some time, due to it being replaced. Only suggestion would be that a microwave in the room, or a shared common microwave would be useful.
