After some confusion with parking, eventually we hiked and made the hotel. They were lovely and checked us in early, which was kind. Unfortunately, our room was quite dirty. Walls and floor not very clean, very suspect stains on some of the washers/hand towels, which obviously hadn’t been checked or changed. Our car was parked so far away that we couldn’t be bothered moving all of our luggage in, so we gave up. Travelling with kids, we were tired and Ubered dinner. Unfortunately no cutlery anywhere in sight. Room was quite small, I guess to be expected in the location, but still not great. Breakfast buffet had huge selection, including bakery section which was nice. Overall, pretty disappointing for the price. Wouldn’t stay again.

Magnificent location but!!!!!
My wife has cancer and I had planned this special trip since December 23. The location was brilliant, the staff were fabulous, the breakfasts, bar and restaurant were terrific but I was very disappointed in some matters. The travellators were working some of the time which made things difficult getting to & from ground to the first floor where reception & the restaurant were. It wouldn’t have been that big an interference except the 4 lifts weren’t operating at capacity with one lift out the entire time we were there. The longest wait time to get up or down got to 12 minutes for us, eventually cramming into lifts with some airline staff. This was not pleasant. The room I paid extra for with a view of the bay would have been superb except for the bloody great crane blocking out a fair portion of the scenery. There is construction taking place everywhere and we were unaware of it until the day of arrival. This should have been made apparent a long time before check in (see photo attached). The fireworks for the Fringe Festival would have been beautiful except for the CFMEU crane in the way. The Novotel Management shoujd of been transparent with this matter. The pool, just plain embarrassing for a 4.5 star hotel. The room itself was nice but you seriously need to offer two pillows high & firm and two pillows low & soft. Four besser block pillows make for a damn sore neck in the morning with no sleep. There were other things but these were the main gripes that spoilt our stay.

there should be a better direct access and sign from the light rail station. It is a real strong point of the hotel location with the light rail stop is right underneath of the hotel but we couldn't find a way to go up to hotel at the beginning and had to go long way around to the hotel entrance.
