I cannot recommend this hotel, despite its wonderful and convenient location and the free drinks and snacks offered in the evening. It has too many deficits, although some could be easily remedied.
Inexplicably the hotel was constructed without elevator access to the rooms in the west wing, and the staff does not offer to help with bags, even for guests such as us, in our 70s and 80s. The stairs are not inconsiderable.
The bathroom was tiny. There was no chair or stool in our room, despite ample space in the entryway, making it difficult to change from slippers to shoes, again especially so for the elderly. The mattress and pillow were hard, with the former placed essentially on the floor. The breakfast was unexceptional, with poor baked goods. Finally, checkout time is 10AM, earlier than the typical 11AM for Japan.
