Arrival can be more seamless such as when a large group of people arrive by the shuttle before check in time, can simply ask would like to wait or come back later instead of everybody sitting at the restaurant and wait one by one, end up finish check in procedure but telling you room will only ready at 15:00. It waste lots of time as guest perspective. Staff who escort me to the lift are walking super fast, I literally need to run after him, but anyway is very friendly and keep smiling on the face. Breakfast is crowed but can tell staff are tried their best to accommodate every request and still in a very polite manner, except missed my coffee order after I sit in. I have to go coffee station by myself at the end. Hotel are new and maintain in are very good condition, however service can be way more better as IHG branded.

The private onsen rooms are superb and nothing beats soaking in the tub after a day of hiking. Limited food options nearby but the restaurant and bar are sublime.

not in a good location, have to walk up 300 stairs to Gora station. and even more chaotic with its very bad shuttle bus (its actually a 7 seats) arrangement during the check out period. river view room is quite noisy withe the small falls. staff is helpful but would be great if they smile a bit more

Incredibly nice hotel with excellent amenities and helpful staff that speak English. A car is available on request to Gora Station that lets you access the Hakone loop. Recommend scheduling pickup in advance as the step path to the hotel from Gora Station is a bit lengthy. Restaurant was used for dinner and breakfast and both were delicious. Definitely book a room with a private onsen and Riverview.

Really beautiful property tucked into the side of the mountain. Private onsen on the balcony overlooking the river and mountains was a dream. The public onsen was fabulous, I didn't want to leave! Easy walk up the hidden stairs to get to Gora restaurants and the ropeway over Mt hakone to see the lake and shrines. The on site restaurant was pretty good, too, I loved the chef tasting menu. 24 hour gym and room service. Everything you could want in a hotel!

We had a great stay at the hotel. The room was very comfortable and the hotel onsen was very nice. It’s a great place to relax away from the busier part of Hakone. Staff was very attentive and offered great service.

I was quite disappointed with my stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, we felt unwelcome and had to wait far too long to check in, even though our room was available. It was frustrating to be the only couple left waiting, especially since we arrived earlier than many other guests. We were advised to use the spa while we waited, but when we rented swimsuits, we were disappointed by the poor fit. The staff's response to our concerns only made us feel more uncomfortable. While the room itself was nice, the overall service left much to be desired. Additionally, I would urge Expedia to reconsider labeling this hotel as LGBTQ friendly, as that did not align with our experience at all. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel based on my stay.

A wonderful hotel to relax and recharge in Hakone. We enjoyed the private onsen and room amenities - felt like a spa. The room was quite large and comfortable. The restaurant was delicious and the lounge happy hour was a nice way to relax. The staff were attentive and friendly. The hotel offers a convenient shuttle service to Odawara and Gora station, which was easier than public transportation.

The hotel shuttle to and from Gora station was very nice. Hours are 10:00-6:00. If you want to tour the area before or after bus or cab are options. Walking to or from the station is by a narrow steep path.
