Moana Surfrider, Waikiki – Big disappointment! We were shocked by our stay here. First off, no one warned us that the hotel is under construction. The balconies? Locked and unusable, with no way to get fresh air or dry swimwear. This is supposedly because one of their balconies collapsed in January. How is this place even allowed to operate? The beds were awful—completely worn out. After just two nights, we both had neck pain. The rooms are also in serious need of an update. And good luck finding a spot by the pool or beach—everything’s always full. To top it all off, they charge $65 for parking and another $50 daily resort fee. This place is just taking advantage of guests without delivering any real value. There are so many better options on Waikiki. Avoid this one!

Great location on the Waikiki beach. Our room was in the City Tour facing the street. You can hear the street noise (ie cars, street artists). So ask to be away from the street. Rooms are good but expect less outdated for a 5* hotel. The part that made me mark lower than I thought was because that you need to pay for chairs and umbrella at 100$ a day, might as well go to the Ritz.

Hotel is perfectly located in waikiki beach and around the touristic center of waikiki. So you have restaura ts and tons of shopping stores surrounding you. Hotel is good but candidly its looks better on the outside than the rooms. Rooms are quite basic. We stayed in the new tower and it truly isnt anything to write home about. However, the bed (matress/bedding) was spectacular. We are even looking at purchasing a bed for our home (found out marriot makes their own & bedding). Not saying rooms were bad just average. Our group stayed at the Beachcomber across the street last year and those roo. Are way newer than Moana Surfrider's. Still had a great time, just wanted to leave MY honest experience & review.

Having the ocean view to watch the sunset at night was amazing. The hotel itself was gorgeous. The location made it easy to walk and do whatever we wanted. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

One of my favorite hotels in Waikiki. Great atmosphere with excellent amenities. The rooms are spacious but could use some upgrades (the rooms are starting to look a little beat up). Overall, the hotel is pretty nice. This is my 3rd time visiting here.

Room was really old and outdated. Bad design, you want guests to hang clothes inside the bathroom? Basically inaccessible if bathroom is occupied. Plumbing was weak and inconsistent. Bathroom was old and outdated. Too much space that was not utilized properly, no rest area except for the writing desk / chair and a single sofa chair. Holiday inn express has better rooms imo. It was dreadful to go back to our room. Housekeeping only work if tipped. I tried a day without tip and a day with tip. The day without tip all the used napkins, candy wrappers and old coffee cups were all left at their original place. The day I left a tip everything was extra tidy, though nothing was wiped down still and the bed covers and sheets left on the chair was untouched Is that the norm? I normally stay at the hilton grand village or Hyatt centric for business and never experienced this type of negligence. Why provide housekeeping if you only make the bed, restock water/ towels and remove trash. It's like a 10 minute per room cleaning max. Is this type of unacceptable work ethics related to the ongoing protests? Well if this is the type of work that's being conducted, I don't see why anyone would give these ppl a raise. Moana surfrider itself if beautiful and convenient for tourists in general, but the room that I stayed in (one of the towers) would prevent me from stepping in here again. Possible for dinner but not to stay overnight. Not to mention valet is $70/night. Dont drive.

The historic building is absolutely beautiful and the location in the center of Waikiki is spectacular. But for a place that bills itself as a top tier luxury resort it does not deliver that level of amenities or services. The tower wing is structurally unsound. You cannot go out on balconies and at least one of the elevators was not working. The rooms are pretty basic. The restaurant is not bad, but it is nothing special and does not emphasize local foods. They charge a resort fee, but really don’t offer any resort activities. No free airport transportation or free car to take you up and down the strip. No turn down service. No free drink on arrival. No luxury touches at all. This is not a terrible hotel, but it is far from a great one. Which is a real lost opportunity and a bit of a disappointment.

Our stay at the hotel was amazing! The location is perfect, the right combination between the beautiful Waikiki beach and the commercial area with lots of dining and shopping options. The hotel is an instant classic, with very kind personnel and clean facilities. Breakfast at the Veranda cafe is a must!

Have stayed at the Royal Hawaiian multiple times and thought to try another historical hotel. That was not a great decision. The hotel feels like it wants to be a 5 star hotel, but gives off a 99cent store vibe with how loud and crowded everything is. Also, somehow, valet made me feel bad every time I needed my care. Also, the wedding venue is below a bunch of rooms with music blasting until 10pm.

Love at 1st stay
We LOVED the hotel and the concierge services were amazing. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed all of the amenities of the Westin Hotel.

It was the worst valet parking experience I have ever had. It took over an hour every day for a week that I was there to park. They require you to call 20 minutes before for the car and yet it takes over an hour to even get it to the driveway. Management is horrible about it. It is not worth the $65 they charge daily. We cancelled many activities because of this issue.
