Other than there was not a coffee pot in the hotel room everything was great. It’s definitely a dated hotel but was clean. Staff was nice, you have to go to the front desk for needs like toilet paper and stuff. Did really enjoy my stay

This is a unique and welcoming vintage hotel. You will stay in the middle of all the action in Waikiki. You will be a tourist like most tourists but you will appreciate the old Waikiki of aloha spirit, friendliness and simplicity. This is a family hotel and you can feel the spirit of the many guests that have lived and loved this hotel for many years. We loved the convenience and comfort of being so central. We thought it was a very special way to immerse in Waikiki life. We walked everywhere, swam whenever we wanted and cooked simple delicious meals in the kitchenette. The pool is simple and family oriented and we will definitely be back. Thank you Royal Grove!

I saw reviews about how noisy it could get if they give you a room near the road, and i felt lucky cause my room was away from the road. However, they scheduled a plumbing beside my room and the drilling really bothered me. I felt like staying in a room near the road is better. I could even feel the vibration of the walls due to the drilling. I wasnt informed about it, and i dont understand why they put me in that room if they have known that they have scheduled maintainace on my stay. REALLY ANNOYING!!Im on a connecting flight and i checked in mainly to have a good rest.

Terribly noisy hotel. We felt like we were on the street. Luvered windows let all the sound come in the room and it is basically impossible to sleep before midnight. The hotel is also in really poor condition. Just spend a little more for a better hotel and you will note regret it. There is no parking so expect to spend a bunch more for parking or plan to park far (15 minutes walk for a free street parking).

Great hotel if you have low cleanliness standards- good location, quiet pool. We were so tired every night that the loud street didn’t bother us- but if you’re a light sleeper it would probably cause an issue.

Don’t do it!
Cons: Room was tiny, cockroaches, adjacent to main street so lots of sirens from emergency vehicles, brown stains on the wall, and woke up with bites on skin. Would not recommend! Pro: Location! Near beach.

The room was very clean and super large. While it looks a bit old school on the outside, it is a very nice hotel and I plan to stay there the next time I go to Hawaii. Very friendly front office staff.
