I recently stayed here a week prior to Halloween. The first room we were assigned to had dirty beds and a badly stained carpet, so we had to move to another room. The staff provided great assistance and also gave me a credit for the inconvenience. The swim up bar had good food and drinks. Their speak easy was a vibe. If I were to return to Hawaii, I wouldn’t mind staying as long as I get a clean room.

We really enjoyed our room. My husband was in pain, and glad our room only had one flight of stairs. (2nd floor) The view was perfect; we had a "Pool View Room". With all the high-rise hotels packed side-by-side, it was nice to be in a 3-story with bamboo railings toward the pool. Seemed like a quaint oasis with the palm trees close enough for me to actually touch the leaves. ... There wasn't a bathtub in the room; it was a shower. (Small, but not a problem for either of us.) We did a lot of walking to catch buses, so my husband really needed a good long soak in Epsom salts. ❤️ ... Staff was always helpful and very friendly. Plenty of places to eat nearby. (If you have a Sam's Club card, you can get lunch really cheap!) Get a Holo card at 7-Eleven or ABC Stores, and ride the bus all day for $10. ... There's a street market on Duke's Lane (which is the south end of Nohinani St where the hotel is.) It's a block long. 5 blocks from the beach if walking. ... Bring your favorite tea bags, instant coffee or French press. There's no coffee pot in the room, but there is this amazing jet-boiler. For drinks or ramen cups or oatmeal. 😃 And they do have coffee and lattes (free) at the desk from 5 am to 11 am. and other refreshing beverages later on. .. Balcony was private enough to hang clothes over a chair to dry if I had to wash something. It rained during our stay, and the desk is outside, but I didn't melt, and I had taken an umbrella. .. I would definitely stay there again.

Amazing stay and very comfortable. The staff are very attentive and always available. The bonus is that there is a bar and restaurant right in the middle of the hotel. It has amazing views. Nice and friendly for families with children and pets. Overall, I give it a 8/10 and I’d definitely stay here again.

me and my wife enjoy very much the hotel .....we love the concept.... the only thing that we will suggest its to pay more attention to the cleaning.....specially the floor in the bathroom ....clean more deeply bathroom floor and pay moe attention to the shower courtain very dirty the bottom part... everything else .....we had a great time at white sands...

There are no elevators but they will carry your bags up or down for you. Friendly helpful staff. The outdoor bar/pool area was my favorite. The room I had was fine, a bit on the old side, but clean. I liked supporting a locally owned hotel vs a Marriott or Sheraton. I felt less of a tourist. For the area, the cost of the hotel was more reasonable. So depending on what you are looking for, I’d recommend it. It worked perfectly for me.

A delightful property, very groovy, small, which is nice as opposed to the multiple room, high-rise commercial hotels. The staff, for the most part were friendly, although the lack of communication was rather inconvenient, as I had intrusive phone calls and knocking at my door, as I extended my reservation a couple times and they did not always get notes. I need a place to rest and the barrage of phone calls and knocking on my door because of the miscommunication between staff was intrusive.

Well, the white sounds is a delightful little getaway in Waikiki, and I stayed at many hotels there, the lack of communication with staff is staggering. I extended my nights as needed, and was constantly woken up or disturbed by staff, asking me how much longer I was staying. They need to work on their communication skills. Otherwise The bar staff and the swings at the bar and the pool set up is charming, and wire. It’s not the four seasons, it is still a fun experience!

Management did not have our reservation (made through Expedia) - finally resolved after several hours delay. Although we paid for our AMENITIES FEE with cash at check-in, we were billed on our credit card when we got home. Attempts through email and text message to the hotel have been left UNRESPONDED. WAKE UP call that was requested never came through. Front desk said they had no record of it.

Felt like an old apartment turned hotel. I can see they put money into trying to make this a trendy spot. But the pictures got me, and it is way less trendy or a destination than imagined. I didn't eat there so I cant attest to the food, but at lunch time not many people were eating there. The room iteself was large, kinda like a studio apartment. Bathroom was fine,. shower was quirky with a step up and there is no elevator so we had to lug our luggage up stairs. all in all not bad, but likely wouldn't book again.

Such an amazing place !!!! We will stay again and again . A block or two away from the ocean . There is a speak easy attached with an amazing atmosphere and unreal homemade drinks and then down the street is a tiny little dive bar with pool tables and 6 dollar drinks . Pool and bar amazing . Shower a bit small.
