Like the reviews said, it is definitely a 'retro' hotel with a 60s charm. The room we had looked old and worn, but was surprisingly clean and comfortable. The price is a little high for what we got, I don't mind them using pump soaps/shampoo to cut down on waste, but they were clearly very cheap liquids. Towels could be upgraded and proper drinking glasses would be appreciated although we did get some from the restaurant. Definitely a recommended stop, but a little comfort upgrades would justify the $169 for a the double Queen room.

Liked: Cleanliness
Restaurant was advertised as open. IT IS NOT. lots of noise from hwy.
It was dated but clean. It served the purpose. I felt safe and the check in was warm and welcoming. Not the first time I’ve stayed there and not the last either.
The room had no phone no clock. The room was not ready and the pillows were totally flat. The room was very small. Very run down on the outside

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
The couple is extremely kind, eager to please, and helpful. We stayed in the suite which while it looked its age, was clean and had the modern amenities. They were also more than helpful in changing our dates The restaurant only has the owners working in it and they also run the hotel. So service is slow for the restaurant which is only open in the morning and evening but you will never meet 2 harder working people.

A welcome comfortable spot outside of the tourist hassle when you’re spending long days on the road
We were tired, got in late & the room was exactly what we needed. Great water pressure, good water temperature, a/c had us cooled down in no time, beds comfortable, safe & clean!
There was a very distinct smell of musk and mold. It was a very old old smell because of its obvious age there was not very obvious dangers of slivers and scrapes from sticking out nails. Cutting my 5 year old’s finger pretty badly
You need to stay here. Period.
Fine I'll go on. The rooms are definitely retro, think 60s & 70s. They're roomy, clean and charming.
But for me the restaurant was the main attraction... a fairly extensive menu, but I went with onion pakoras, butter chicken and homemade naan— all possibly the best I've ever had. The restaurant was smart and clean, the owner/chef friendly and accommodating.
Cannot recommend this spot enough!
The stay was average. This is my second stay at this motel. Under new management the high level of cleanliness is maintained. The retro character is unchanged. The restaurant has changed although we did not eat here. My only peeve was that the fridge and coffeemaker were turned off at a power bar that was difficult to access to turn on. I hadn’t noticed the fridge was off until I went to make coffee in the morning and take my snacks out of the fridge upon leaving. Otherwise the beds were comfortable, but the pillows too big and puffy. The one pillow I used kept my neck at an uncomfortable angle. I recommend flatter ones. The bathroom and shower were very adequate. A nice touch was the no-slip mat for the tub. Overall a good experience and very convenient off the highway.
Motel in a small town in northern Ontario.... its what ya expect. The pink tub and toilet and old linens made it feel like a weekend at grandmas house.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the food was spectacular. Accommodations were average but the other qualities shone through. I will definitely be staying again.
