Holidays in Kaho

Dying to get away from it all? Can't stop following hashtags like #BeautifulLandscape? Then base yourself in Kaho and take a journey through the seriously breathtaking beaches, mountains, active volcanos and tablelands of Fukuoka.

The nation's capital city, Tokyo, sits approximately 860 kilometres to the east of Kaho.

In terms of attractions, Kasuya is jam-packed. Sitting 19 kilometres away, here you'll find the Fukuoka Art Museum, the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum and Kushida Shrine.

Go for a relaxing walk and feel the gentle sea breeze on your face at Momochi Beach or Iwaya Beach.

Make your way out of Kaho and you'll stumble on some lovely natural sights. Just 35 kilometres away, Nokonoshima Island Park is a fabulous spot to spend a few hours in the fresh air. Another recommendation is Hiraodai, 30 kilometres away from Kaho.

Exploring the Ozuka Ancient Burial Mound Museum will teach you about the local culture and the people who reside here.

If you can't imagine a holiday without a little sports action, see what events are on at Level Five Stadium. It's likely something will be on during your visit. You'll find the venue 20 kilometres away in Fukuoka.

Nothing compares to a day spent zooming down the fresh, fluffy snow at Tenzan Ski Resort. Collect a trail map when you arrive and see how much of the terrain you can power through!

If you're thinking about travelling further afield, journey 5 kilometres north to Iizuka. It's here you'll come across the Nanzoin Temple and the Kaho Theater. We also suggest going to Umi-machi, 12 kilometres to the west, for the Kyushu National Museum and Dazaifu Tenmangu.

Dazaifu, 15 kilometres to the west, is a great little excursion You can use it as a port of call when swinging by the Komyozenji Temple, the Kanzeonji Temple and Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. If you'd like more convincing, other nearby attractions include the Musashi Temple and the Kaidan-in Temple.

With just a little bit of your travel allowance left in your pocket and some amazing memories that will last a lifetime, say one last "後でお会いしましょう (Atode o ai shimashou)" to Kaho.

When it's time to fly off, give yourself plenty of time to get to Fukuoka Airport (FUK). Located 20 kilometres to the west from Kaho, this is the closest terminal.

There's not a single Kaho accommodation listed on lastminute.com.au. Thankfully though, there are a few options in the surrounding area. The next best place, the Route-Inn Grantia Wakamiya, is 12 kilometres away in Iizuka.
