I recently stayed at this hotel, and while the front desk staff were wonderful, my experience with the dining options left much to be desired. I arrived at the hotel around 7pm, only to find that the hotel restaurant was closed. I was really hoping to grab a bite, but had to figure out another option for dinner. The front desk staff were great, though – one staff member even helped me order food from a nearby restaurant since the hotel facilities were unavailable. Honestly, she saved my life because I was starving and had no other options.
The next morning, breakfast was also disappointing. The breakfast staff were not friendly, and when I asked for the breakfast menu, I was told there were only two items available: curried chicken or callaloo with ground provisions. However, about 30 minutes later, the staff brought out ackee and saltfish with fried dumplings, which was not mentioned on the menu at all. To make matters worse, those items were an additional charge.
Furthermore, breakfast options ran out by around 8am, and there were no efforts to replenish them, even though I had paid for the breakfast as part of my package. It felt like it was a first-come, first-serve situation, which was frustrating.
While the front desk team definitely went above and beyond, the dining experience was subpar and needs significant improvement. I’d recommend staying here for the friendly staff, but I can’t say I’d be eager to rely on the meals offered during my stay again.
