Area exactly what we wanted: quiet, relaxing. Amazing beach cafe next door (Chill Out Cafe). Massages on beach: very reasonable. On Thursday nights, the Maenam Walking Street is steps away.
The bed pretty much faced the glass door, had to draw the curtains to get privacy. Rooms were a decent size. There was a fridge. Bathroom was basic. Floor got pretty wet when we showered. Shower area was sunken by an inch at most, shower curtain didn't do much to keep water out of the toilet area.
Resort very earth-friendly. Key card needed to power in room, toiletries are organic, they only change towels and sheets on request.
Service was just OK. Little interaction & they were a bit more stand-offish than we'd experienced elsewhere. Also, I had to use the phone to confirm pickup for the ferry, pretty much got the third degree from the owner. I get they don't want you making overseas calls, but I had shown him the local phone number, should've been enough. No staff at desk before 8AM or after 8PM.
Paths not well lit. We ended up carrying a flashlight at night to avoid stepping on snails and millipedes.
Good stay and reasonable price. If I return to Koh Samui, will probably stay in Maenam again, but will likely try a different hotel, I'm sure there are others that can offer the same or better experience.
