We arrived shortly before 6pm, and all the staff had already left for the day. The sliding front door requires a passcode, which we did not have, so only by the grace of an exiting patron were we able to enter the building. The only way to check in is via an iPad at the front desk. The iPad asked for a code in order to check in, which I had never received. Luckily my friend used the telephone at the front desk and in Japanese was able to obtain the necessary information to check in. Apparently I was supposed to receive an email with that check-in number. Once we got to our room, we found that there were no washcloths, only a hand towel and bath towel each. After again calling the hotel (via our cell phone since there was no telephone in the room) we found that they did not automatically provide such a towel, and since the staff was already gone for the day there was no way to obtain one. We ended up going to a local 100 yen store and buying a few washcloths to make up the experience. Needless to say, by this point we are pretty frustrated and disappointed at the GRAND JAPANING HOTEL Kuromonsanjo. However, the room was clean and in nice condition, the shower was warm, and the bed was quite comfortable. Once you negotiate the obstacles, it's a nice hotel.
