This place is just fine. We stayed three nights at a comparably priced spot a few blocks away that was way nicer. The air purifier in our room was broken and they provide bare bones in room amenities, like powder coffee creamer. No coffee or tea in the lobby. Frosted glass. All around just fine but there are plenty of nicer spots at the price range.

The property was in a good location in terms of walkability to food, bars, and access to public transportation. It sits right up against a river that many people walk along. The room itself was quiet, and nice, but we noticed the vanity had damage to it, wall decorations were peeling, and most disturbing is the tub was filthy. I filled the ofuro only to find gray matter floating at the surface. It's as if no one scrubbed the tub between visits.

I really enjoyed my stay in Kyoto! The staff at Solaria Nishitetsu was very helpful, especially when I had wifi issues. The property is in a perfect location along the river. The rooms are very nice (especially the bathroom with separate toilet area). I did not get a chance to visit the spa/public bath, but I intend to stay longer and do so next time.

Great staff. Convenient to Gion and Pontocho. Local trains nearby. Comfortable rooms. Newer hotel. Only negative is that in room coffee is weak. Great place to stay.

Very nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable. We got one of the View Bath rooms, it was very pretty. Located a little off the path of the main tourist hangout area but close enough to walk to. Breakfast offers variety of Japanese samplers, delicious.
